Forums - Sales Discussion - I just realized that Nintendo will stay in first place for a long time

"Thank you.... yes, just as plenty of people believe wii sports is a better game than others you like.

See, opinons... everyone has them, and they might be different than your's.... that doesnt mean they are wrong. It's just a different perspective.

Good day sir"

The fact that opinions are different from mine does not in itself make them incorrect. The fact that opinions are logically untenable makes them incorrect.

wait, so your saying that your's is the only tenable opinion?

"wait, so your saying that your's is the only tenable opinion?"

No. What I am saying is that some opinions are clearly untenable.

Like your whole idea about other people's opinions....

And Qay I hope you don't think MGS4 is art because the script is cheesy also imo

Haven't played it. Keep in mind, though, that something doesn't necessarily have to be unambiguously successful to be a work of art.

I may/may not care, because if the situation stays the same then I'll happily buy the ps720 and a new pc again.

Cheesy and convoluted but fun between cut-scenes

I'm not sure that judging a video game based exclusively on its storyline and dialog makes much sense, either.

"The wii did go back to nintendos roots.  Games easy to pick up but with a degree of difficulty."

Wii Sports has a "degree of difficulty"? Wii Fit does? Wii Play? Because those are the Wii's killer apps, not games like Super Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess.

Yes NSMB wii is harder than any FPS clone on the hd twins.  It has a degree of difficulty as does galaxy.

O.O

Super Mario Galaxy is the easiest Mario game I've played and NSMBWii is, overall, rather easy.

It's not like you've played all "FPS clone on the hd twins" anyways lol

it is a difficult game

So is Kill Zone 2 (Especially so on harder difficulties).  And NSMB isn't nearly as hard as you are portraying.

Oh I don't know why I'm getting into this but this is where my browser put me so this is where I'll start.

Wii Sports is an easy to pick up, difficult to master game.  It's made so anyone can pick it up and play it and do well.  That's a hard thing to do.  Ontop of that, it made it so there are discoverable controls for people that want to dig deeper into it and by mastering those, you can do even better.  That's even harder for a game to do.

Wii Fit doesn't really count for this, but I suppose it's only as hard as you want to push yourself?  As for Wii Play, sure, it's easy?  Darn, you got me there.

As for NSMBWii and SMG 1/2, they aren't super easy games but they aren't super hard either.  There are very difficult stages (or can you say you got everything with no sweat?) but instead of making it frustrating, they made it forgiving.  By doing something like adding a 1UP before a difficult jump, they turned something that would be frustrating and turn people off to the game into something that's fun and encourages you to keep trying.

Now, for Killzone 2, that game is difficult and it's difficult in the not fun way.  It's unforgiving and often times just feels cheap.  I guess if that's what you assume hard core is, fine, I'll be having fun with my other games.  It's called intelligent design vs just making it hard to be hard design.

-edit-

And just for point of reference so people stop calling me a Nintendo fanboy, I don't even really like my Wii anymore.  I've gotten over it.  I like some of the games on it, but mainly because it doesn't have achievements/trophies, I just don't like playing it.

Super Mario Galaxy was too easy. Way too easy and in a bad way I thought.

NSMBWii had some harder moments that's true but that's mostly because you're trying to rush it. Because overall, it's pretty easy.

I also thought Killzone 2 was difficult in a bad way. But CoD4 is the hardest single player FPS I've played and it was brilliantly done.

There's a lot of other FPS this gen that are hard and challenging.
