I disagree with your last sentence.

Define skill.

In most (not all) turn based games you can deal with all your woes by just leveling up. In action RPGs that isn't totally necessary. Of course leveling up will help, but what about those people who do things like lvl 1 or low level fights in action RPGs. You can't do that in turn based games.

That's because it's easy to exploit bad AI in action RPGs.

I liek turn based if done right.

AKA Chronno Trigger. Yiu can not get a better battle system then that. FF13 turn based system was terrible.

Action RPG's are good as long as it just isnt a RPG with hack n slash tacked on

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Tutn-Based RPGs IMO are better. I love them SE!

An age old game called Chess is turn-based.  To say that turn-based games require less skill would be an insult to Chess Grandmasters.  Show me a player of action based games beat a master of chess to prove that they have greater skill.

Another example is Civilization.  The problem with some turn-based games is that they take out strategy and planning in the game so the games turn out to be boring.

Punching the opponent in the face?

I was thinking about this and let's see it from angle of console/pc ownership - in Japan almost everyone has consoles so most hardcore dedicated are on those platforms in US/europe hardcore turn based maniacs are much more likely to own either pc only or pc consoles

PROUD MEMBER OF THE PSP RPG FAN CLUB

I definitely prefer turn-based to real time in JRPG,

I like both action and turn-based but I prefer a little mix of both.

So my favorite rpg are the paper mario and mario & luigi :).

OT: US gamer have played Turn-based rpg since the Nes Era, they just a little tired.

It's probable that the action rpg momentum will cool down next gen and the turn-based rpg could shine again.

Sequel I want the most :

Patapon 3 , Elite beat Agent 2 , ROTK 12 , Mother 4, Legend of legaia      3, Resident Evil outbreak 3.

Favorite Youtube poop        McDonnald                 Morshu
