Forums - Microsoft - Destructoid Crackdown 2 Review - 4.5/10

I didnt feel like readin so i'll probably wait and see Ign or gametrailer review, not for the score but for the actual review.I really enjoyed the first one back then but I have bad feeling that this one is gonna be pretty shitty.

Nintendo made me a gamer so I'd be stupid to ever try to forget that                                             like so many people nowadays

The Top  Best Consoles Are SNES and PSX

Currently Playing: 1.Monster Hunter tri 2.MegaMan 10

It appears Crackdown 2 is not all its cracked up to be... sorry.

@solid, I kinda have to disagree with what you have to say, a review isn't solely an opinion of someone, it's also here to help whether or not someone should purchase a product, in the case of what Jim Steling is doing, Crackdown 2 or Assassin's Creed, he might have not liked those two games but i think that he can understand that other people might really like it and there fore decide to buy it(Heck I loved AC2}. So a review NEEDS to be critical, unbiased cuz they do matter on sales(not all of them though).

Who cares. Crackdown didn't get glowing reviews, but it was one of the most fun games this generation. The best part of the first game was playing co-op, and going around blowing shit up.

Ign gave the game a 7.5 and said basically the same thing as this review that it was the same as the original with new issues that made it worse than the first game. Maybe  a 4.5 is harsh but the point is this game is worse and that sucks.

Reading the review, I feel more confident when I think inFamous 2's changes are for the best (not trying to make any comparison with Crackdown 2, since I haven't even played the original, nor care about its quality).

People still want the "dark" and "mature" look of Cole and Empire City, and some are unhappy with the new powers.

As long as it's an evolution (that is, it's core gameplay mechanics are present), changes can make things for the better. However, I think we can all agree that in order to justify the purchase of a sequel, change needs to be present.

"These guys lost a shit load of credibility to me when they over-bashed Assassin's Creed 2 and Final Fantasy XIII"

I think Jim Sterling's approach to video game reviews is to hold games to the standards they set for themselves. Assassin's Creed II and Final Fantasy XIII are triple-A titles with enormous budgets that fell short of the mark, so they get bad marks. Not decent marks or OK marks like you find at most other websites (with the exception of Edge), but legitimately bad marks.

All in all I think it's a reasonable approach. As a gamer I personally didn't hold FFXIII to the standards of all video games ever made, but rather to the standards set by past Final Fantasies (and more broadly by good RPGs in general).

original was ok, but got boring pretty quick, i had high hopes for sequel to improve.

still fans will lap this up, im gonna have to pass on this title.

the devs should have listed to the fans instead.

but 4.5 is to harsh, a game like this shouldnt be below 6.5

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Oh please...everyone knows this game is about even with the first game so there is no way it be that low.

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

The fact that as a sequel Crackdown 2 has not made any noticeable improvements over the original is in itself a reason to dock points from its score, in my view.
