Reading the review, I feel more confident when I think inFamous 2's changes are for the best (not trying to make any comparison with Crackdown 2, since I haven't even played the original, nor care about its quality).
People still want the "dark" and "mature" look of Cole and Empire City, and some are unhappy with the new powers.
As long as it's an evolution (that is, it's core gameplay mechanics are present), changes can make things for the better. However, I think we can all agree that in order to justify the purchase of a sequel, change needs to be present.
