All of my peers who follow the franchise either despise FFXIII altogether or say its no where near as good as previous entries, yet myself - who i far less enthusiastic about the franchise and has yet to play through even one numbered FF game entirely - am usually the one who remains optimistic about its overall quality. The one who lent me the game says the games biggest problem (just one of a myriad, apparently) is its battle system, which he repeatedly labels as horrific. His favorite title is FFXII btw. I only ever read positive impressions of the game a short while before it was released in the US, back then there were many claims that it had the best battle system in any FF game ever, so i just wen't along with it until now. Is the game really that bad? |
Actually the battle system is the best battle system in an RPG in a long time, the common problem with it is that its very story based and linear so there is no roaming around towns and such like older games.
