Forums - Nintendo - *Pikmin 3 Being Rushed?*

I know that it was already posted that Miyamoto has said that he wants to finish and release Pikmin 3 quickly and that he wanted to create a new franchise next year. I found more information and Miyamoto also said:

"amongst the present promises, I have to finish Pikmin quickly, so production is progressing extremely well."

It sounds as if Miyamoto is only making Pikmin 3 because he already said it was coming and that he doesn't want to upset fans. He wants to start something new but can't do that until Pikmin 3 is done.

Pikmin 2 is my favorite game of all time and I had high hopes for the 3rd game but I don't know now if it can be all that great if he is being rushed by Nintendo and himself.

I don't think it is too much to worry about, the game was announced at E3 2008 so it was obviosuly in development for awhile. The control mechanics have already been established through the New Play Control releases which will have also helped save some time. But if somehow the game does it end up being rushed I will be dissapointed too, because besides Zelda it is my most anticipated game.

Well the man does have a long and sordid history of rushing development of his titles.

True, true.

... Oh wait!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

.....he sadi he wanted it out quickly...does that mean he is rushing it? no. it means he wants to get it out quickly, probably for the fans. you also speak as if miyamoto (of all people) is just making pikmin because of some obligation to the fans...if miyamoto didnt want to make pikmin 3, he wouldnt have said it was in development. dont jump the gun.

i mean look at who we're talking about...miyamoto and nintendo definitely have a huge history of rushing games....right?

I think this is a lot of worry for nothing.  "Getting the job done quickly" does not instantly translate to "rush the thing out all half-assed so the next project can get underway."

Miyamoto is not the guy known for rushing games.  He's the guy known for scrapping games that have already been in development for a while, or delaying them for up to two years until "perfection" sets in.  His delay of Mario 64 created a delay for the N64.

We know real development started on it last year, and its been in the conceptual stages for a year before that. It'll be fine.

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!

lol wrong thread (delete this)

Nintendo has NEVER rushed a title out...NEVER. They're infamous for delays but because of that they have a higher standard for quality than other developers. I guess Miyamoto is saying he wants to get it finished ASAP because people have been waiting for it for so long.
