Forums - Nintendo - HELP! Classic controller query

Im on holiday in europe and just bought 2 classic controllers for the wii. I have 2 wiimotes at home in South Africa and was hoping on playing some 4 player smash bros when I get back.

I only just found out that the classic controller plugs into the wiimote.

Does this mean that I cant play with 4 players at the same time!?

Should I get a cable that goes from my new classic controllers into the gamecube ports?

Any other solutions?

Help please.

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!

The only solution is to get more Wiimotes. It is really unfortunate, but it makes Nintendo money. You need one Wiimote for every Classic Controller that you want to use.

I highly doubt that a port to the Gamecube controller socket would work, but if you manage to find one, then go ahead and try it. But my common sense tells me that the controller requires power from the Wiimote, and is not going to get power from anywhere else.

I would suggest getting a Gamecube controller if you can find one. It's similar to the Classic controller, and it plugs right in to the GC controller socket. That's what I use. It's also good because Ii don't use the Wiimote's battery.

Good luck

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

You should buy 2 wavebirds (Nintendo made wireless controllers for GCN).  I had numerous b button sticking problems and c stick (yellow stick) messing up on wired controllers.  I then found the wavebird and they have never messed up for c-stick and b button sticking (only problem is after constant wear some of the l r triggers make metal sound when hitting down on them, but they don't stick or interfere in any other way).  Wavebird controllers are the most sturdy GCN controllers you can find plus they are wireless.  Only drawback is they don't have rumble to preserve battery life but that never bothered me.

GCN Controller (Wavebird) > Classic Controller for Smash.  You should just buy 4 Wavebirds in my opinion (I have 4 Wavebirds)

ya Wii Motes are the solution for Classic Controllers and im not sure of any cables that will connect them to GCube ports...

Not only does it allow you to connect a Classic Controller to the GC ports, but you can even use Playstation controllers with it.
