Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The new DS' screen are defective by nature?

Well, I have a question. A friend of mine said that ALL new DS' are coming with a poor quality screen, kinda yellow, leaving shadows where there is movement and all.

I know that the Crimson Red ones are the ones with bad screen, but someone told me that they are fixed and that is not a problem anymore. So now, this guy say to me that ALL versions are STILL problematics.

Can anybody enlight me about this subject? Thanks.

never heard of any problems. are you sure he's not a hater?

I'm not aware of problems. Hes probably just trying to spread bad rumors about the DS.

PC Gamer

I've heard that some of the crimson ones have screen problems, but I haven't heard a peep about the new ones. I'm sure if it was an ALL situation, the community would have a large outcry, as the DS outsells everything worldwide by a vast margin.

I bought my girlfriend a Pink DS Lite and it has a yellow tinged bottom screen, I haven't pointed it out to her though, she doesn't notice, also it's only the yellow on an downwards or upwards angle, if you look face on it's white(normal).

Well, I know this guy who said the PSP is powered with panda blood.

I know the white PSP Slims were released with disk drives lubricated with panda blood, but I heard from someone else that the new ones are fixed.

Now, this guy tells me that, "No, all of the new ones are."

My End of 2008 Hardware Predictions (console only):

If this "S**T" happens with all new DS', I'll buy an used one for sure.

Its actually really not all that noticable. The picture you linked shows it at the angle that makes it look the worst. During normal use, you really can't tell.

This is probably caused by lower-quality TN film- matrices used for the new LCD screen. At least the viewing angle on the top screen is much wors, therefore the usage of the lower-grade matrix is evident. I'm not sure about the yellow tinting of the lower screen, could be the screens protection fault (the plastic protector causing yellow tinting)

Anyway, it's a cheap move by nintendo. But, i doubt that would stop me for getting one for myself, because i cannot even get near gf's one... she plays it non-stop

.

Well thats still not going to stop me from getting a Nintendo DS Lite. Its still worth purchasing. Like many said above, it doesn't distract during gameplay so there shouldn't be any worries at all.
