Did selnor just said that bing is better than google? Aw my gawd, I better run off to tell all the SEO people that there is a new number one! lolololololol this is just pushing it a too much, can I have Microsoft babies?

And on topic:

Noone cares that someone broke the release date selnor, the only reason why you are so hesistant to push it a week back is that the PS3 would have the upper hand, which is something you couldn't swallow. Yet everyone else knows it. Well done, you've compromised yourself yet again, just not in the best gfx content.

And if the point of this thread is to compare their launches, then here are my predictions.  First we have the PS3 Slim launch for the week of Aug. 30th - Sept. 5th, in which it sold 582,815 units.  So far we only have the 360 Slim launch in America, 129,325.  When it launches in Japan, I don't see it having a huge impact.  But with the release of the MH game, Ill say it may get 10K.  Again, that's a maybe.  For it's release in EMEAA, I think it may increase its sales to the level the PS3 has been selling.  It could do a little more, so I'll give it 60K.  So, in the end I think the 360 Slim's release will push it to ~200K.  So about a 283K difference.  I also predict that after a few weeks of it being in EMEAA, sales will return to normal everywhere except America, where they will stay slightly above 360's previous numbers.  PS3 will again become the 2nd highest selling home console on a WW weekly basis.

Please stop. I'm only comparing the US in the op for now. Of which many many shops broke the street date. Enough to have more than 20 articles in UK from Sony to stop UK shops doing the same. 

When I compare EU launches that will be from the 30th August week.

Live with it. There is loads of proof that more than 100 stores broke the dead line. Bing it.

A load of Sony fans angry messageing me because being imature on VGC isnt enough. 

Last time 360 started to outsell the PS3 we had this exact thing happen. Then after 2 months it was still outselling, it died down. But it's gonna be a horrible year on VGC now.

Hey let me tell you something. My family like Wii, they arent in need of Wii or anything. My wife liked the look of Kinect E3 2009. She said she would rather wait for it. She wasnt fussed about having a console at all. Hence no Wii. If Kinect wasnt coming out, I probably would have brought a Wii Xmas 2009. But all of us will get more from Kinect as all our interest levels are higher. 

My daughter doesnt bat and eyelid with Wii ( and many family has one ) but loved Kinectimals. 

Now if you think I should have bought a Wii based on my family, to quote John McEnroe, " You cannot be serious!"

yeah...are we crazy? the ps3 sold 500k its first week if i'm not wrong...

 

in america the week the big retailers break the launch date, the ps3 sold 100k....the europe week, it sold 250k! and in japan it sold 150k! if america should be the biggest peak for the 360, Selnor, you can't expect it to outsell the Slim launch..... let's not forget that the day the PS3Slim launched, the 360 had a elite price cut, a arcade price cut in europe and several bundles...

There was no Arcade price cut in Europe. The 360 hasnt dropped in price in EU ( where I live ) for over a year.

seems Xbox360 will be stronger, if it has the same effect as it had with Ps3 slim, MS will be very happy, but i don't think so since Ps3 price was dropped a lot when slim came out

btw, is Xbox360 finally cheaper than Wii or not?



don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

360 is cheaper than Wii atm and it has been cheaper than Wii in the past too

Actually it seems Selnor wants to count the week that a few stores broke the street date as the launch because it makes the 360 Slims launch seem bigger.  But, it actually makes it look worse.  I mean you had a week of the PS3's old model plus street date broken Slims selling at $299, and yet the PS3 was still able to sell over 160K the following week (the Slims real launch).  In one of its weakest regions, to boot.

And the 360 S launch was a surprise soft launch with little availability so it is really a wash.  PS3 had a couple of weeks to get the word out that the Slim was coming.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
