I'm sorry but I take Mario Kart and Pokemon very seriously.

DS was a fine system, but apparently the API had limitations on it. One of them was rather critical. The DS api had a maximum vectors per render. Even if a developer could render more because of well designed engine. They were locked to that max value : You can find occasional articles like this on Gamasutra. It's a pity too. We could have seen some games look even better. Not to say we haven't seen some really good design.
The COP had an excellent sandbox engine. Even though the gameplay was very unpolished.
GTA:CTW was fantasic gameplay. Too bad we couldn't merge the two games :P
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
Nice.
Maybe they will finally kill one of their characters in one game. I suggest Link.
I think the DS has plenty of games for core gamers. Just the Square Enix portion of its library alone.
But developer interest in the 3DS is staggering. If I can get Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts and Splinter Cell on the same system, I'm buying that system. Ah eff it, I'm getting one regardless but these "serious" games aren't hurting my interest. And yes I realize Kingdom Hearts is probably not considered a serious game.

Also I can't recall where but Reggie said Nintendo wouldn't look at 3D gaming on televisions till their was a 30% attach rate. That will take many years since many people haven't even made the jump to HD yet let alone 3D! |
I hope they announce Dementium 3D for 3DS.
That would be a good start for serious gamers.

Does anyone have Dementium II?
Awesome game!

I like the idea of "more serious" games, but I must scoff ever so slightly at the idea as the same company looking to make "serious games" showed off two remakes of N64 games we've all played to death, as "3DS games."
Seriously.
They had me at "Kid Icarus," they lost me with "N64 remakes."
I never bought a handheld and I'm more excited for the 3DS than I was when the Wii launched.

They are not remakes. They are ports.
