Forums - Sony - Playstation Plus Europe detailed

I don't understand this. They reward people who purchase a lot of PSN content by giving them year-old content which they likely already own?

As someone who buys a shit ton of stuff off PSN, I don't find it very appealing. It just needlessly complicates things, since I'd always wonder if what I'm about to buy would be part of PSN next month. Honestly, I'd feel better if they just said, "Fuck it. PSN is going pay to play." I trust Sony to reinvest it in their brand beyond what Microsoft does.

It may be worth it for those who buy games on PSN frequently if the discounts are decent.  Between that and the beta access, I may jump in.  If they ever add in cloud storage for your saves, it's a definite buy.

I like how they're making the service content-centric.  I disagree with making automatic downloads (or any other feature inherent to the OS) an exclusive feature, and I think it screws people over while not providing an enticing reason to get the service.  I'm glad that it is the only feature thus far that is exclusive to the service.

I like the fact that they specify that cross game chat is not part of the service.  It's a good sign.  We know it once was originally planned to be, so this implies that they are guaging demand for the service before deciding whether to add CGVC as an exclusive feature or not.  If demand for the service is initially high, they'll hopefully make the feature free for all, and if they do decide to make it an exclusive feature after a certain point in time, hopefully it won't greatly affect the total number of subscriptions, thus convincing them that making it exclusive was pointless thus they'll make it free anyhow.

I'm happy being free.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Not interested at all...

Why on earth should I pay for Themes when I cam make my own?

I already have LBP PS3

I don't want DLC

I hardly ever buy stuff from the PSN Store so don't need discounts

Updates can happen whenever they need to. I don't need automatic downloading updates. How about auto sync trophies?

I'm not sold yet. It just seems like a bunch of discounts and freebies on items that I typically wouldn't purchase. For those items that I would normally purchase, I just don't see the savings adding up to the yearly Playstation Plus subscription fee. They mentioned that Playstation Plus is "evolving service", so hopefully new features and options will be added over time to make it a worth while purchase.

Some people are so short sighted.

I my self essentially have all the content on offer right now, but there are many new PS3 gamers hoping online so for them this is a god send of savings.

One should also consider that new content will be released as time goes on, so if you subscribe now the benifit of being a member of plus may not be apparent,  but given time the benifits will be obvious, it's just a matter of being patient.

In any case, I'll probably end up getting it on launch, that way I get the digital version of LBP....I already have LBP on BD but I don't want to thrash my drive...plus it's fee XD

Load of crap tbh, everything is old and if people wanted it they would of bought it already, they pick the discounts aswell what a joke.

Also US has a much better deal,

yeah, US might have a better deal, however I'm still in at launch.

I'm glad I held out on getting LBP, Destruction Derby and Medievil now lol

2 things: official site says PS needs software 3.4 (must be releasing shortly?) other new featires?

and how big will the DL for LBP be I wonder? I thought there was a size limit on things from the PSN and I can't see LBP being anything less than a 4GB download and I've got a crappy inet cap
