Forums - Sales - Metroid: Other M sales predictions thread

Going by the numbers I think Nintendo will need a Wii successor by Q4 2012.. I mean sure, Metroid isn't a huge franchise and certainly not one to bank a console's potential life on but the advertising has been there and there is a Metroid fan base on Wii already built up thanks to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

To only sell 1/3 of the first week sales of Corruption is strange.. Sure it's not the holidays but generally you'd see a more front loaded sales curve to another title in a franchise on a particular system compared with the first.

I myself haven't picked up the title yet either due to a few reasons including moving over to the PS3 for my gaming as of late and also shaky reviews.. For a game that I'll probably only play once, paying full price just doesn't make sense to me right now.

Too late for everywhere but maybe America.  It really needs to launch in Q4 2011 in Japan/Europe imo.

Skyward Sword should make a nice Wii sendoff, Nintendo should hold back Wii Relax and Pikmin 3 for Wii 2 launch.

I agree with the sentiment here, guys, but it's not really on-topic.

Hey! I gave my opinion on Metroid too :P

Wasn't the game released sep 3rd in europe, these numbers are sep 4th. So those are 1day sales.

It's 2 days of sales and Corruption was also released on a Friday...

I guess my "first week of sales" prediction was way-off, unless North America and Japan can compose of a majority of Metroid: Other M's first week of sales.

I wonder if Rol was either being sracastic or serious with his prediction now ...

Rol was being dead serious. He and a certain contingency have expected it to bomb from the beginning.
