I don't know how it plays on the PS2 , but I had very little framerate problems playing it on the PS3 - btw I think the game is awesome , but I will reserve my final statement for after I finished it (just got it 3 weeks ago and I have very little time to play it at the moment)

"Shadow of the Colossus" (I think the Japanese title is something like "Wander and the Colossi") is a terrific game, one of the classics. The blurring is from motion blur, the first time that was used so extensively in a game. If you're playing it on a huge HDTV, sure, it's not going to look as sharp as the latest and greatest hi-def games. But it's still a wonderful game. Moody, atmospheric, puzzling, mysterious.

Great visuals, each colossus is a unique boss battle, some puzzle/jumping elements, and a gradually building story arc. It's also a very forgiving game - you can mess up and try over and over again. Also a great sound-track. And the final battles... too good to spoil for you. Let's just say you'll never think of a final boss in quite the same way again.

Last but not least... SotC is a prequel to Ico.

Your freaking kidding me ?!?!?!?! SOTC is one of the true gems of 6th generation gaming . I liked ICO a bit more , but mainly because it had more combat . On the other hand , as a pure adventure game SOTC is one of the best of all times . I still have it . It runs overall I would say at 30fps , but it drops sometimes ( never to 7 as someone pointed out ) , but the graphics are still breathtaking IMO ... they are just beautifull , and the colosis are looking wonderfull ... man those details blew me away back than . And lets dont forget about the story and sound ... both are Oscar quality ...

The problem is , many people are spoiled with games like Gears of Wars , Uncharted etc. , games that look amazing , but I have to say , that unfortunatly they dont have anithing else inside them , other than pretty looks :(

SOTC is now for everyone. You either love it or hate it. I love it, but not OMG love it. More like "Yes i see beauty and uniqunes of this game, and i enjoyed it".
If you play it on HDTV graphics will look much worse than they are.

I do, then again; I abhor Ico as well...

i think its a great game but not like some say

this game do sucks... they forgot the game and put only the bosses, and they aren't fun to kill like in some other games...

OVERRATED

Sure it has it's faults, but there really isn't another game like it. It's the kind of experience that's so unique and engaging that you can forgive it's shortcomings.

Uhh, no, I'd say it and the katamari games are the only ps2 games that aren't overrated
Frankly I think the game looks incredible, and the only 2 flaws I see in the game would be the frame rate and the camera but given how different it is and the incredible presentation, brilliantly down story telling and art direction coupled with how much fun it is to take down the collosi I can easily overlook those 2 flaws

it's one of the game I NEVEr got to play cus of coming to PS2 late....
