Leo-j, just because people don't share your unjustified faith in PSP doesn't mean the place is full of "haters". And I'm sorry, but it's quite hard to consider the PSP a success when it was sold at a loss for a long time, never managed to get good software sales and overall seems not to have gotten much of a return on the investment.
Remember that just making a profit in the long run does not mean it was worthwhile. It has to have made enough profit to be justified compared to other things Sony could have done with the money.
It's hard to even say that it gained a foothold in the market. Back at the beginning of this generation Playstation was associated with getting the most games. Not any more. Third party support is not going to flock to PSP2 like it did to PSP initially.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
The kid is a good representation of PSP target audience? Just asking.
psp have a 10 year life cycle. sooner you know that the less people will laugh at you.

Looks like they're taking inspiration from Sega's old Genesis ads.

I think the problem is that Western developers in general aren't going after the handheld market in general.

The PSP needs to be put to sleep. It feels outdated. With everything being touchscreened , it feels weird using a PSP. It's over, I know it, the media knows, yet Sony doesnt see it. |
I use my psp A LOT so no its not outdated, still the most powerfull handheld out there

No. The shots at the competition were long after I was tired of this fool (which makes it even worse, of course).
He always acts like a douche, whether it's something like this, or trolling the competition (see the Move one). All the while not being funny, but looking more bitter than anything.
... When I think about it, his act reminds me of Stephen Colbert. I'm not exactly a fan of that guy, either.
In general, I also don't like when companies attack the competition - If they're going to do it, it better be damn funny. From what I've seen, neither Nintendo nor MS do this, while Sony does, and it isn't doing me any favors for warming up to their games.
Final year of the PSP... next year either we will se a PSP2 or the PSP braqnd will be left 4 dead
And no, Im not talking about a port

3DS and (even if you deny that, which you will) Iphone say hi.
Hey, I still use my NES. And my PS1. But they're outdated.
The PSP has, I think, maybe another solid year, year and a half in it, if that. Then it's new system time.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
