Japan getting 3DS this year is basically a sure thing imo.  Honestly, I also really think Europe will get it this year, as the DS software market has basically collapsed there due to piracy.  America may have to wait until Q1, largely because America's basically the only market where there's no real need for 3DS from Nintendo's vantage point...

I think Nintendo will aim for the holiday rush. At no more than 250$.

Seeing that DS, Gamecube, and Wii all launched in time for the holiday season for Japan and North America, November is my guess for those two regions.

Analysts are right and wrong. They work well when predicting business and products that follow the standard developmental pattern. ie remaking the same product as before just better.

Analysts break down 90% of the time when a business doesn't follow the standard pattern. The other 10% was just a lucky guess. Nintendo isn't designing anymore under the concept of remake better. They are making under the design of make for a consumer purpose. This type of analysts require newer styles of business school not old business school. Business school with more consumer psychology.

So this person is wrong. They are assuming that people will buy a better product for more money just because it's better. We saw how well that went with the PS3 didn't we.

199.99 at the highest  Nintendo will not release a handheld with a higher price point then their current console.  Before it's release Dsi and Xl will see a twenty to thirty dollar price drop with 3DS selling at 190, that's my prediction.

Yeah, at 3DS launch I really expect DS pricepoints to drop.  Hell, they'll probably drop sooner (already have in Japan).  It'll be something like...

DS Lite @ $99 (production stopping)

DSi @ $129

DSi XL @ $149

3DS @ $199

Its too much time, i think is comes out before Knectics, maybe sept/oct and nothing takes out of my head that the price for it will be 199,99

I think that DS lite could be sold for 89,99 so ds-i could go for 119,99 and XL 139,99 , cuz u see 50 bucks is too little money for the differences that both consoles will have, i mean no one will try to save 50 bucks over a next gen console.

I even can see 3DS going on sale for 249,99 but in this case i think it will come bumble with 1 pakced full game , and at least 2 pre-installed games.
