PSP can still sell well it just needs to be advertiised. It has been advertised lately and the sales are doing alot better now, just get better advertising rather then the marcus kid or kevin butler, and I think sales will increase dramatically.
ADjust down the price, maybe add a few new models of PSP, try to get the sales up to 80million.
While Sony does this, they should keep working on PSP2, and get it ready to release 1-2 years before Nintendo's new handheld (after 3DS)

More advertising and price cuts will be good for the PSP. Comparing the DS and PSP, the PSP has the better game library hands down. However, discussions of the past are pointless at this point.
If the Sony PSP2 is released in 2012 or 2013 I see a few changes in the market for Sony:
1. Nintendo will have greater 3rd party support for the 3DS.
A bad omen for Sony as the success of the PS1 and PS2 was highly contingent on Sony having a near monopoly on 3rd party support. 3rd party support has traditionally translated into piquing the interest of hardcore gamers.
2. Apple come 2012 and 2013 will have more apps for the iPhone and iPad.
Apple is a serious competitor, just watch, listen and read the interviews from Iwata at Nintendo. Sony fanboys can scoff at the idea of Apple being a competitor in gaming, but then again their system has been outsold twice over by the Wii, which begs the question, what and how much do Sony fanboys know about the gaming industry, the Blue Ocean strategy, and disruptive technologies? I would venture very little so long as they are consumed with irrational fanboyism that clouds their judgement like alcohol clouds the judgement of an alcoholic.
3. If the PS3 is any indicator, Sony will put out another system where they price themselves out of the market.
I remember clearly the original price of the PS3 being $499 and $599 respectively. This was done because Sony believed better hardware, not better games would make the PS3 the best selling system of the current generation. Well they were dead wrong and they will be dead wrong if the PSP2 is another glitzy, overpriced piece of hardware that can pump out the greatest graphics for $299 or more.
People buy systems because of the games. Each console that I have purchased has been about the games and this is the reason, beyond the absurd price, I went with the Xbox 360 over the PS3. If you think the most powerful system sells, then I have one acronym for you "PS3."
