Actually, my PS3 launch vs. Wii Fit launch was just saying that a big launch doesn't necessarily equal long term success.

But there's no arguing that Wii Fit will be a different case.

Well this is true no doubt. It is very possible that Wii Fit will not continue to sell well. I mean you can point to the US GC launch for that it sold phenominally well for the first few months and than in January it sold 50,000 and never recovered. I think right now we can discern that it sold out and that there is a noticeably high level of demand but we do not know the sales it could only be like 150K or 300K.

However with that said it can also be pointed out that games like Wii Sports, Wii Play, Nintendogs, Brain Age have set a precedent for this type of game. I am not sure how Flash Focus has done or Face training but I don't think they sold to well so I guess you coudl also point at that.

I think to critize Wii Fits success is stupid even for fanboys it just demonstrates something that Nintendo has done extradonarily well. It means that for the first time you can buy a second console and actually have a noticeably different library of modern games.

Compared to the rest of the world, I mean.

Thing is unlike Brain training this can become a widely usde thing with dozens of Wii games all using the board and based on exercise

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Well he was pointing out Brain Training is selling as well in the US as the rest of the world. I was pointing out teh DS hasn't been selling in the US like the rest of the world either. pointing out a flawed argument.
