I agree with that, but after mom starts seeing Kinect she wont want Wii Fit.  My wife just watched the briefing with us and she thought Your Shape looked awesome and thought she would get a much better workout with Kinect.  Why? Because its true.

She also loved the idea of not needing a remote to control a movie or music.

If it was up to me we would never have gotten a Wii.  Yet she wanted it and we got it. Has she been happy with it. Not really. To her it hasnt lived up to the hype.  Believe me she isnt an Xbox fan either, but she loved the way that controlling media was shown.  She said lets get that just for that capability.  She also loves Facebook and liked how the software integrated with Facebook.

If you have paid attention to the non-gaming press you would see that they have said very good things about experiences with Kinect.

So, I'm confused.  How is a new 360 with built in DRAFT N wifi (better than any built in wifi in PS3 or Wii and what you have to have for HD streaming), 2x the size hard drive, and releasing at the same price of the current 120gb non-wifi Elite, a price HIKE?  Seems like the same price to me.... Or am I just incapable of comparing $299 vs $299... 120gb vs 250gb... no wifi vs wifi..

I know.  I read this thread thinking the exact same thing.  Is the hate for Microsoft really this bad here?  They release a redesigned system, add features instead of stripping them away, all for the same price, and then get bashed for it.  Truly amazing.

nightsurge its called a price hike by some on here b/c as of now the cheapest new 360 is $299 all other models will be discontinued, MS has not announced any other new 360 for cheaper yet, do you think that a $299 360 can out sell a $299 PS3? and even if MS announces the new 360 sku w/o a HDD for $200 thats the current prices now sales trend will continue as they are now ps3 outselling it WW every week

also PS3 is getting wirelless N with there new CECH2500 sku

I doubt sony is that mad. I bet $100 price tag for the whole shindig. 

Here is a scenario:

The Arcade system is $150.  It is the new system, without Kinecs. 

There is a $300 bundle that comes with Kinects, and a hard drive.  Maybe is a 120 GB harddrive.  If they are basing it around the new model, as far as I know, there is no internal memory in it, like the current arcade systems have.

There is a $400 Elite bundle that comes with Kinects and a 500 GB HD and other goodies bundled with it.

And then we find out Natal will actually sell for $100, rather thna $150.

For one player.

The pricing on Move is as follows:  $99 for Eye, 2 Move controllers, and a game.  No sub controllers.  Sub controllers are $40 a piece.  Move controllers I think are supposed to be $50-60 a piece.  Have fun paying for 2 person multiplayer on that.

I don't get this...they said in the MS E3 conference that the 250GB 360 would cost $299....seems like its the same price to me...

Because the Arcades will die dude, they'll DIE. No more $199 consoles. No more Arcades and Elites, just the glossy $299 slim. Selnor will never see it's Kinect arcade bundle because the model will be phased out much before it's relase.

Oh yes, and the phasing out has been confirmed by a lot of sites alread. Just search it if you doubt me.
