Early this morning, the Xbox Live listing on the Marketplace for Metal Gear Solid: Rising was updated to apparently show the game's box art (shown left). The image shows the cyborg ninja Raiden with a katana in one hand while his other hand holds the still-electrified spine that has been torn out of a defeated enemy which lays crumpled in a heap and cut in half at his feet. On his back appears to be something which resembles a missile launcher or railgun (or it could be a funky looking sword sheath). The image fits well with Rising's new tagline of "Lightning Bolt Action" and it seems that Metal Gear Solid: Rising is moving away from the stealth espionage gameplay the franchise is known so well for and moving toward a more action-oriented style of play. This box art definitely reflects this. The revealed box art on the Xbox Live Marketplace has had some gamers wondering if Rising could be a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. The game was originally announced at Microsoft's press conference last year at E3 after all, which caused such confusion it actually had to be clarified afterwards that the game wasn't going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive. Now seeing information about the game being revealed first on Xbox Live has caused a lot of speculation. Although it is quite unusual to see the 360 version taking the lead in the way of announcements and information being revealed instead of the PlayStation 3 version, it isn't very likely that the game is actually a timed exclusive. If anything, it seems more plausible that the game would be a timed exclusive on the PS3. With Microsoft's E3 conference less than five days away now, however, you can bet that it would be announced then if it were indeed the case. ___________ This box art is on Xbox Live!!! WOW LOOKS AMAZING Oh yeah ignore the article, its speculative BS
