@pariz: Yeah they are quite smilar   draik's predictions are as well, it's no suprise as mmost games have clear favourites.

It will be the Quater,Semi Finals and finals where the most diffrences will occur as the teams will be more evenly matched. I think that Argentina could do well especially with Messi, Tevez and Mascherano. However I think England could beat them if they face each other later in the tournament.

I don't know if you know, but this year we have celebrated the 200 years aniversary from the Revolución de Mayo (that's when, thanks to Napoleon kidnapping the king of Spain, we cut free as a colony to later become a free nation).

Some years before that happened there were two occasions in which England tried to take control of Rio de la Plata's commerce by force (they are known here as Invasiones inglesas). The truth is lots of english bussiness people lived in Buenos Aires and somehow England was quite important for our independence (it was one of the first countries in the world to recognize Argentina as a Souverign country). More than a century after that, the Malvinas/Falklands war... though you are young you may have heard that story...

All of this is nonsense gibberish, but at the same time, I've got my reasons to point it out:

This is a very special year for argentinian nationalism. Therefore, a match against Spain or England would be utterly celebrated, much more if it comes with a victory.

I don't understimate the english national team (neither the spanish) and neither overestimate argentinian national team, but when it comes down to this events is difficult to keep it rational. We want to/need to/plead to/are going to win. :P

lets be honest messi would rip england to shreds,

but the games between england and argentina are always good fun,you should check out the bbc sport football website, for highlights of the 1986 game and every world cup thats been, there is some very good action there, only uk users though i think,

personally i rate argentina as highly as anyone and would enjoy maradona winning the world cup as manager, aslong as england had already been knocked out,of course,

i don't think many would argue that Brasil and Spain are the best teams right now and i'd never underestimate Italy,

then argentina,holland,germany and england,

the winner will come from one of those 7,but we know that anyway,

yes i've written off france

and to be honest i can't see holland, germany or england winning

i backing england to get to the semi's though for a change where we will meet brasil and no doubt lose, but i'm going to enjoy it
