Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo will definitely win at E3 this year

Hmm, interesting.

The gaming press would never admit to Nintendo "winning" an E3. Nintendo could drop 17 3rd party exclusives and reveal 36 new IPs and a bitchin' Zelda that looks better than Crysis, but it still wouldn't be enough because StarTropics wasn't there after 20 years.

I wouldn't rely on Wii Party or Wii Relax to rule the holidays, but that is because the titles are so different that you can never really predict their sales patterns. Did anyone really know how big Wii Fit would get? As for Sony and Microsoft, I've had a 360 for over 2 years. No new IP is going to come from them that I will actually care about. Nothing showed up last year, and I don't expect much now. Sony has Killzone 3 and some more sequels, but their focus will be unfortunately split towards Move.

The elitism towards less active gamers displayed previously in this thread was disgusting. Who do you think you are, and where the hell do you get off saying who belongs and who doesn't? Nintendo or any other company can make whatever the hell games they want. If you don't like it too bad, but just because they aren't pumping out shooters and bloodfests like the Soda Factory doesn't make them irrelevant. The altitude must be pretty disorienting on that High Horse.

What I find amazing about this post is the fact you come into the thread talk about how MS makes no game that interest you, how Sony just has Killzone 3 and sequels, how HD gamers are all about shooters and bloodfest, yet dare to complain that people would complain about Nintendo and their games. It goes both way man, why is it so easy to dish out the complaints about MS and Sony yet feel like Nintendo is exempt.

Because  the complaints about Nintendo aren't legit. There is a lot of animostity towards Nintendo and they will always say "Nintendo's E3 was horrible."

Don't forget that last year we got Other M, Galaxy 2 (which everyone is giving 10s now mind you) the return to classic 2D Mariop, and Golden Sun DS (amoung others I can't remember).

You.

I said I don't expect a new IP to come from them that I care about, I never said they make NO games that interest me. If that was the case, I wouldn't own a 360. Your post is selective. Sony, like I said is going to have sequels and some Move stuff, but they are the worst secret keepers of all-time. Their cards are probably all on the table in terms of what they will have.

When did I ever say "HD Gamers"? I never put those two things together in my entire post. I was posting in response to that guy earlier who posted a block of BS about Nintendo being irrelevant and how they are SUPPOSED to be making more violent software like he knew what he was talking about....

The whole idea of this thread is Snake612 believing Nintendo will win E3. The odds are though, that the people who usually confirm these things (websites, magazines, press speakers) will never actually do so in Ninty's favor.

Nintendo actually has the ability to surprise, and the most propensity to do so. You, psrock are seeing things in a different light, which I personally am not surprised about. Before I dare to do anything, I dare you to infer a little better next time.

No one is exempt from having people that dislike them, even my awesome mug I've got haters, but really Savior is pointing at the people that have outright bashed Nintendo in the media for no good reason, and pointing at the guys that are trying to say who can and cannot be gamers, you haven't stated that from what I've seen so why take offense to it?  Savoir hurts his own argument by stereotyping but he's not even pointing his comments at everyone but the people that have gone over the line, the ones passing judgment on others while acting like they're right no matter what cause their title as a "hardcore gamer" says so, which is exactly what elitism is.

I am sorry for seeing things in HD. Yes, I don't like Wii, but I like Nintendo and I praise them all the times. I just prefer the PS3 this Gen because it offers me the things I like. But trust me, I get on Sony all the times without fear. If you read my 7000 post, you will see that I have praised MS more than any of the other two companies.

Nintendo can win E3, but the reason hasnt been revealed yet.

3DS = PSP2

Zelda = GTA5 ( rumor)

They will need more to win that's all. And they haven't been the best at presenting in the latest E3, they hae the most irritating presenter ever ( that lady) and they spend too much time with numbers.

I expect MS to win.

I just don't get what some people want from Nintendo.. I mean yes, 2008 sucked.. But this year, they are poised to have one of their strongest conferences in recent history, with their trifecta of Zelda, Vitality Sensor info, and 3DS, no to mention a timeframe of DOUBLE the amount of time they usually spend, and yet so many people in this topic seem to be expressing hatred to Nintendo and are predicting doom for their conference more than ever. I mean wow, exactly what DOES Nintendo have to show to get some of you guys excited?? Wii HD? LOL.

The only logical conclusion I can draw from this, is like Claude said, I think some haters are scared that Nintendo might actually have a good confernece with some good products this time, so the damage control is on overdrive. Maybe it's me, but I cannot see how a showing of 3DS, Vitality Sensor, Zelda, Pikmin, Pokemon Black and White, Golden Sun DS, and probably several unnanounced surprises, can make for a crappy showing, like many people seem to be predicting here..

If we're going for presentation alone MS has never lost, they could make a turd exciting to watch and have in E3's past.  But a lot of people need to understand that a lot of gamers actually still watch and read E3 info for the games and info on the games so whoever has the best content/most surprising content wins for those gamers, myself included.  As for "Zelda is expected" it is, it was in 2004, but when that reveal happened you got this reaction that started a meme.

Grown ass men in the media, knew something like Zelda could and probably would be announced but it still made a reaction like that.  It's almost stupid how just a trailer for that series can make people react.

Nintendo can only triumph at this year's E3 if:

1.  Now that Sony and MS are moving into motion controls, show that Nintendo already dominates that market that both competitors have are starting from scratch and that Nintendo is already exploring "new propositions".  Are they ready for this? Yes.

a.  They could easily show off Wii installed base, Balance Board Installed base, Motion Plus Installed base.

b.  3DS will definitely be about "new propositions"

c.  Vital Sensor also about "new propositions"

2.  They show that they are massively expanding their software library.

3.  Show off a lot of Motionplus games.

That I can agree with.

I know E3 is more of an investors/stockholders type deal than I give it credit for, but that is no reason to bore people to death. I can't really put my finger on it, but E3 is like  a  comic book convention. Part of the show and presentation is to please those who show up and have them enjoy the festivities. It is juvenile at times, but good to see.

Nintendo has this attitude of 'deadpan'; its like they are screaming at the guests, "C'mon guys, start acting mature and wear business suits like Reggie". The thing is, they can't act like that say, "OK, now enjoy our trailer of Wii Party." It makes no sense.

Another thing that bothers me with the numbers...they do present Nintendo's success but seem like a pathetic attempt at courting 3rd parties with numbers. It is like well, Nintendo figures that with  ~71.5 million Wiis out there, they should be getting some games. However, with the giant middle fingers they've received in return, they are not going to be getting them.

I'll ask again, what do Sony & MS have lined up game wise besides more sequels?  Are their Wii-knockoffs it?

Give me a break, what are those amazing new IP Nintendo going to show. The Game you guys keep talking about ( Zelda) is hardly a new IP.

Xenoblade and The Last Story.  There's lesser new IPs like FlingSmash and Line Attack Heroes too.

What new core IPs will Sony and Microsoft have?

If those two games are the new IP that will blow the HD consoles, then I expect a terrible E3.

lol.  When you finally set down those goalposts and can answer the question, let me know.
