Forums - Website Topics - Who already wants VGC 4.0?

"The plan is to make the hub customisable in future so you can add / remove boxes and lay it out how you want - for the time being it is exactly what the name suggests - a hub page which explains the site and links you to the subsites."

sounds good to me

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

Is there a reason that when you search for a game on gamrReview you can see the sales on the search, but not in the game? Is this just a bug or work in progress

i actually joined VGC cause i could find everything on page and VGC page was very simple

anyways if it does overwhelm the many new visiter, you could provide a feature like customizable hompage for the users so that we

put all that we like from VGC on one page

like the sales, forum, news, predictions section on one page with detailed info

the HUB also could do with a little more detailing, right now it feels like a link page that are found around the net

that wud be better.and please when the hub is customizable, please make it be 'fuller',atm it look very empty with four boxes on a big black page

and also with how many recent post news, sales data it could show, that should be in the hands of the users

it was even a bigger blow coming before E3,IT is too complicated to discuss and learn the site at the same time

also the gamer review, news, etc have been just made like  trying to be IGN or gamespot

the reason i liked the older VGC was because everything was at one place with the community,it feels divided now

and there was nothing short in making friends in the old VGC,I really loved it.

just don't make it like those big IGN,GAME TRAILERS sites or the friends making things like twitter or facebook.just stick to the core gaming thing and it will be fine.

Well when I first discovered VGchartz, not so long ago, I WAS BLOWN away with the possibillity that you can see everything, like you said. IT tried to be EVERYTHING and it was friking awesome at that.

I dont know about that new thing, we'll see

Come on, have a little bit of respect for the team of people who've spent the last 3-4 months slaving over this site.

It may not be to your initial taste (everyone hated VGC 2.0 if you remember) but if you look around all the different areas you'll see that we're doing a lot of things now that just weren't possible with the old site. The decision to move to network of seperate sites is obviously deliberate and has a number of advantages over the old design.

hey we all love VGC,it is my fav site

and i know people would have worked hard over this but did you really needed to separate everything

it has a number of advantages, its alrite to expand into a network but atleast keep the VGC HUB like the all in one VGC we had earlier.

I'm sure we will get used to whatever comes down the pipe, but could we not have the option of a summary hub similar to what we had before?  With just one click or glance I could check everything I needed, reply to a topic, etc.  I check VGchartz several times a day, but now it will take me a good 10 minutes just to see everything I used to in a matter of seconds.  Sometimes glamour and new does not equate better.  Adding options to a site is fine in moderation.  This is our home.  Imagine if someone came in and flipped your home upside down, added 3 more kitchens, made a super long hallway to get in and out, etc. and didn't talk to you about it.  I think it is understandable that we might have a few things to say.

One huge benefit of VGchartz is that there is a much more intelligent userbase here than on most other gaming sites.  I would love if there were more requests and considerations for our input during the planning stages of these type of drastic changes.

I had a few issues at the start, as is the norm with change. Though I am beginning to like it :D. Also I appreciate that the site developers are taking time to read over complaints and adjusting them for our enjoyment.... not many sites do that :D.

I just hope everything is up and running well before E3 :P .

Meh Meh Meh...

Do you guys even know how much work there is in the new VGC?

I'm optimistic about the new site(s) and the new possibilities. Of course some minor modifications (Hub, Gamr Connect, some style issues at Chartz) should be done to improve the new VGC but in the moment it is a great side.

Congratz to the Team and especially the Webmaster for the new site.

almost every site does

I do like some of the changes. However I like to have more recent forum topics on the front page as I don't search the forums, I only look at the front page. It was easy to glance and find what you wanted to read.  I'll always support this site - so change is good. Keep up the good work Brett!!!
