no ther are skills, & u cn chose frm them, but u will hve to select quickly becaus th atb bar moves vry fast. so many ppl just go for auto battl optin whch choses skills for u, bt i chose skills manually. 
u will have paradigm shift whch means u change th class of ur chrcter in th battle, later on in game u need to do this evry 10 to 15 seconds. th game is challenging in side mission boss fights. the gameplay is different, inovative, fast, fun with gud music.

recovering life aftr battle is no problem becaus in ff13 if u use wrong paradigms a easy mob ov enemies can kill u, this hs happnd to me

one bad thing is ther is less customizatin ability like junction sistem frm ff8 whch is my favrite, u cud manipulate it and be overpowerd, or u cud draw lots ov magic, u cnt do tht in ff13 whch is a bad thing.

so the battle system is kinda like ff x-2

2 last questions

can u at least heal urself or others in the battle (heal,potion and phoenix down)

and 2 me the games looks alot like ffx ( which was a good rpg )

can you tell me how you compare the two

 

yes bttle sistem is a evolution of ff10-2 bt also different.
u can heal urself with the medic role, and u hve potions/phoenix dwns. bt remeber u dnt get to use magic until 4 hours into th game, the prologue of th game is long and battle sistem at th start is diffrnt frm what it becomes 4 hours later because u hve no paradigms.

it is very linear like ffx, bt even more linear thn tht.

i liked it more thn ffx & ffx-2. i ws skeptcl of this game & aftr ff12 i hated ff bt this game made me luv ff agen. i like it more thn ffx & ffx-2. bt ff7 & ff8 are a bit bettr thn ff13 (or mayb equal).

The battle system is pure awesomeness. It only has two flaws: you can't choose the character you control in battles & you can only use one summon in battle (the one from the character you are using). Apart from that, the battle system is great, really fast paced and the least noob friendly amongst all FFs.

Don't pay attention to this pseudo-Final Fantasy fans and their hate for FXIII. If they can't accept that FFXIII has its incredible pros (not necessarily liking the whole game), those are not FF fans at all and don't know what they are talking about. The game is not perfect but neither it is as bad as people want it to be.



Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Totally agree.  And Zack Fair is my absolute favorite in FF. 

OT: Is IMDB a credible source?  I personally think it's just a mistake on their part.

Off-topic: How's FFX so far? Do you like it?

I many hours in, I have just broken into Yuna's wedding. I like it a lot. Its much better than Final Fantasy 12, more similar to FF13 so maybe thats why I like it more so far. But the battle system while strategic is boring at times (compared to some of the FF13 cast), when a normal enemy takes such a long time I tend to get bored. The voice acting is awful, most of the characters are boring except for auron and lulu (I think thats her name), they both seem mysterious to me & interesting. The story is pretty good so far. The music is astonishing!

But much better than FF12 no doubts there.

Well its better than FF12 so far, but really I don't like it as much as I liked FF13, I heard your first Final Fantasy is usually your favourite, maybe this holds true in my case?

EDIT: I must add the writing is disappointing compared to FF12. I wonder why FF13 & FF10 have poor writing compared to FF12.

don't worry there are plenty of teeth grinding battles later on in the game that require your full attention(if you want all the summons), IMO FFX>>FFXIII, I hope one day they put it into a collection I have an urge to play FFX all over again now:):)

No. You don't have to like FFXIII. I am not an asshole, assholes are only those who don't know what they are talking about, who go all out offensive without reason and those that get themselves nailed to crosses. Final Fantasy XIII can be disliked all you want, but some people here want to make it seem like everything from this game is failure and it isn't. There are aspects in which the game exceeds from the rest and aspects where it doesn't.

A FF fan is one who likes all FFs, that is my definition. If you like some FFs and some you don't, you are only a fan of those you like, not a Final Fantasy fan altogether. It isn't like you need to be a Final Fantasy fan in order to be a real gamer or anything, I am just putting things where they belong.

There is nothing woring in disliking some Final Fantasies, but there is something wrong when you try to call yourself a Final Fantasy fan when you dislike one so much. So that you can have an idea of what I mean, I won't be a Final Fantasy fan when I get to dislike one I have played. As simple as that.
