I only buy new games when I'm especially excited about the game and want to get it right away (or if they are cheap). This usually just happens to be Nintendo games. There are very few other games I am willing to purchase at full price, especially when that full price is $60. $50 games are at least a little easier to stomach.. Though I will be buying a couple of HD games new at launch, including Dead Rising 2 and Fallout New Vegas.

Gamestop employees really need to keep their opinions to themselves. They're always trying to inject their opinion somewhere or push a game on you that doesn't particularly interest you.

It's your money, you can do anything you want with it.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Hey guys, I got a question for my fellas Nintendo fans, I went to my local gamestop the other day and one of the clerks tried to sell me Red Dead Redemption, he made it sound like this game is amazing and I told him that I will eventually buy it but once it's available "pre-owned", he asked me why? so I told him that ever since the end of Nintendo 64 era I made a decision which I thought was an act of loyalty. I only buy "new" games for Nintendo systems making sure my hard earned money (or my parent's back then) goes to Nintendo and the developers, Now I still like some games in other systems but I only buy those copies "pre-owned" which as you know the main benefitiary in that, will be the Retailer (Gamestop specially) he looked at me as if I just confessed to JFK murder, and said that it was a little hypocrite since I was still playing other games in other systems. anyway, This is my decision and Its something that I have been doing since I was 10, I still hold Final fantasy 6 and a Link to the past my favorite games of all time and I was 6-7when I played those. so dang it Nintendo was part of my childhood so I'll be with them til lwhenever. so call me a "Fanboy" if you like, It's my money.

Many people only buy preowned and no one thinks they are hypocrites. The only hypocrisy in there is that the clerk think there is a problem with you buying preowned-only on some consoles when the clerk is the person that enables you to do that with his preowned store in the first place.

Hey if you had presented this as "I buy all my games preowned... but I buy my nintendo games new", no one would have had a thing to say to your logic. But there you used the terms nintendo fanboy, so some people feel you are evil all of a sudden.

Continue at it, as long as used stores are legal, then there is no reason not to benefit from them.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

OP is my new hero :)
if i was a multy-console owner i would do exactly like him.

You wouldn't happen to know an angry pool man would you?

@OP
No it does not make you a fanboy, it does make it hypocritical. In the scheme of things. It doesn't matter. It's pretty tame and if I were you I wouldn't care at all. Also watch the negative comments in this thread against the supportive and neutral ones. You might get a pattern here. Given the reverse of the console in question you may get different backers.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

The problem isn't you buying only used game's, it's that you go out of your way to buy used game's which you obviously enjoy (because you chose to buy them) and then through your weird obsessive love for a company you decide that the maker's of the game you enjoyed doesn't deserve any money.

The Gamespot employee was right to judge you as a hypocrite, he was wrong to tell you up front but that's only because he was working.

You're a terrible gamer, you don't like good game's, you love a company and that loyalty is misguided and hurtful to not only your future gaming habit's, but to Nintendo and the gaming industry.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
