Does really a thread like this is still relevant? It's only a purpose to make people (Wagram) come here to say again the game doesn't deserve any 10 at all.

Well, 10 exists. It's a number. If it was a number for perfection, no games would have earned it. Because perfection is inexistant in this world. Mario Galaxy 2 is a great game, it deserves the great review. I don't think the 10 means it's perfect in every way. But it's still a score that shows you that this game distance to other one, that this adventure is as good as the first and improved in a certain way. Sure, it doesn't have the same impact, but that would make the relevance of sequels invalid. But we need sequels to build upon the precedent experiment and gave again the player something extraordinary.

The bank of Star Bits is IMO a great clever addition, and with the interest too. The postman Toad is more useful than it was in Galaxy 1. I love when the Starship Mario gathers more and more people on your way. I love the World Map, the level design is better than the first, visuals are more stunning than the first, the soundtrack is as awesome as the first, if not more, the story at the end is well-driven (I wasn't expecting it) and I love Lubba.

So, following what Wagram said, it deserves a 9.9 and Galaxy 1 a 9.8. Because Galaxy 2 is in every aspect superior than its predecessor, and the impact should not be a critera of evalutation because makes sequels irrelevant. The review system is flawed to give 10. 10 should not exist, it's an unworthy number!

I don't care if you make me out to be the bad guy. I just tell it how it is. I knew this was going to happen because you Nintendo fanboys are blind as hell and can't see the truth.

I will say and it and continue to say it: COPY AND PASTE. NOT A 10!

Good Game: Yes:

Perfect 9.1-10 game: NO.

Ok, yes we get it. I think we got it the first 3 times that you gave your opinion... so what the hell are you expecting? A candy? Do you want a lollilop? Just get the s**t out of here.

We get it, is not a 10 for you. For other people it is. If you think the game is just a copy and paste lazy ass game, good for you. But don't freaking argue that your opinion is the truth. Your opinion is just that, YOUR freaking opinion. You already said what your opinion was, that's more than enough. I don't think anyone cares about it.

BTW, every sequel has to have something from previous games, it's just a part of... guess what, being a sequel.

Could not have said it better :O

@Wagram : U said you beat the game, but how many stars ? 60 ?

Btw, why are you whining about the soundtrack? It's about 20% rearranged tracks from the first and 80 % of new material. I've never heard you whining about the fact final fantasy as always the same main theme (i like it very much BTW, just using it as an example). Mario as always been about the gameplay-fun factor (which is perfect in this one) and always will be. In the end, the only thing that matters is that you don't like the game very much (which you have proven multiple times) and pretty much everyone else (except hardcore fanboyz sh*tz) love it.

It's only a matter of opinion. Even if modern warfare 2 and GTA4 got perfect scores on some website doesn't mean they are perfect. Heck, modern warfare 2 was so shitty on day launch that they needed to patch the game. Does a game that needed to be patched to fix major problem with the multiplayer a perfect game ? And let's not talk about single player mode .... But, i didn't go around the website bitching about the game. I shut the hell up and play something that satisfy me. If SMG2 doesn't satisfy you, it's not my problem. Go play something else. It's as simple as that.

You see, even if a game gets a perfect score, we can't really do anything about it, except whining. But, it doesn't change anything.

Oh almost forgot " OHHH noesss. Nintendoz iz d00mzzz!"

The perfection is an illusion that only the blind ones can see.

Well at least there is another person in the world who shares my thoughts. I seriously think the game is good. But it is NOT a near perfect game.

Great Game: HELL YES
Perfect Game: no

I fixed this one for you

thanks for showing us the light, we were blind but now thanks to you we can see. now go away

Well it was bound to happen, most critically acclaimed game this generation and someone manages twist it into another, "Nintendo is Lazy" article.

If you are a reviewer you are by no means obliged to give the game a ten if you don't feel it deserves it and you can express said views in the context of a review and give a corresponding score. Why would you feel the need to deride the game that has recieved such widespread critical acclaim? If it's not a ten it's still a damn good game and it's getting hate articles written about it, for me it just smacks of attention seeking.

Well i for am glad it's the most rated game ever certainly better than having a grossly over hyped game like gta there

Most people think the removal of the hub world is an improvement. And is one of his three big complaints about the toad giving you pointless letters? Really? So that's two down.

Some things are recycled, yes. It's a direct sequel, DURRR. Verdict: damage control. Move on.

You know, it's funny. People always make fun of the Wii and say it doesn't have any highly rated games, and then whenever it does get high rated games, they say it doesn't deserve it. It's ridiculous.

Wow, some people still don't get that 10 doesn't mean "perfect"...
