You played the game... and you think 70% of the music id from the original? Good day to you, Sir.

While there probably is not such thing as a perfect game, based on these criticisms I'd give it a 9.5 to 9.7. Not a whole point down to 9, that's just ridiculous.
thank you for showing me the light now i will not buy the game... NOTT!!!
your post wont even make a difference so why write it even :P

I don't care if you make me out to be the bad guy. I just tell it how it is. I knew this was going to happen because you Nintendo fanboys are blind as hell and can't see the truth. I will say and it and continue to say it: COPY AND PASTE. NOT A 10!
Good Game: Yes: Perfect 9.1-10 game: NO. |
You did that yourself.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. FFVIII comes to mind.
I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet (I'm not going to read all five pages of this, I mean come on) but a 10 doesn't always mean perfect, and not all critics score games the same. not only that but not all of those perfect 10's you seen on Metacritic are in fact 10's, some of them are 4 stars out 4 or five out of five, that metacritc will score as 100. IGN and game informer (GI didn't give it a 10 I'm just using them as an example) will on occasion give out their highest score (a 10), but that doesn't make the games perfect, and Gamepro will often give out 5 out 5's but still list complaints in Cons side notes. but a magazine like PC gamer uses a scoring system that goes up to 100 and they have only given out that score once (that I have heard of, or maybe they never have I haven't PC gamed in a while) the general rule is the more degrees of score the critic uses thar harder it is to get that full score.

@ The people who think I wrote that argument
I DIDN'T write that. This is an article from a site I found. I just thought I would share it with you all. Goodness, you people need to pay attention. All you guys do is complain.
9.5 for me. My main problem has been the CAMERA, it works sometimes and sometimes does not.
This was a well-thought-out article, actually. I haven't seen too much copy and pasting of bosses, aside from the mecha-beetles, but i'm only 30 stars in. As it stands the lives system is rather pointless, but it could be made relevant again by tweaking. Start with a set number of lives at the beginning of the level (say three), and you could get 1ups in the course of the level, and get 1ups outside the levels, but only apply for the next level you do (so you get a letter with 2 and start the stage with 5). Game-over within the level to void checkpoint progress would be the only way to make them relevant again.
I'll agree on the missing overworld. It could have been good.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yes, beating the game is now knowing nothing about the game. |
You didn't beat the game, your game collection shows a clear inclination towards RPGs and not even one Mario game and barely any games with platforming elements are in your collection. We have no reason to believe that you have bought it, played it to the fullest extent (in a short time period I might add) and have judged it quickly to be just a rehash.
I have not played it either, but I do know from the general consensus that SMG2 is not just a "Copy-and-Paste" of SMG. Otherwise the reviews would not be as high as they are and it would instead pan the game for being a repeat. No review has taken points off of SMG2 for being more of the same.
You are trolling, that is not respectable in this forum.

"EVERYTHING"? ... really?
