I don't think you need a bigger HDD. I have 27 games and only 3 required installation.

If I bought a PS3 today this is what I would purchase based on what I have experienced so far. It is even better than 3 of the 5 can be grabbed for ~$40 or less.

If these genres interest you in anyway buy these first and foremost. All superb top notch games in their respective genres. I'd also recommend that you open yourself to trying new types of games that you weren't overly sold on in the past.


Stealth Action
Metal Gear Solid 4 (Epic game in every sense of the word. If you remotely are a fan of the series don't hesitate. If you've never delved into the series, try it you probably will like it).

Action Adventure
Uncharted 1 and 2 (Great games, like acting out National Treasure or Indiana Jones type of movies...Don't miss out on these).

Hack and Slash
God of War III (Another series of great games and an epic finish to the trilogy at that. Another game that would be a total shame to miss out on on the PS3).

Platformer
LBP (Awesome, Awesome game. Practically an infinite amount of quality levels with the User generated levels. I recommend playing with friends. It adds to the fun). I had a boat load more fun with Little Big Planet than I did Super Mario Galaxy this gen.

First Person Shooter
Kill Zone 2 (Impressive graphics and presentation) / Resistance has an above average campaign too.) If you like FPS games, KZ2 is a quality game that shouldn't be missed. It's similar to Call of Duty in control scheme.

Action RPG
Demon's Souls (Where to start with this game? You'll love it, Hate it, Love it. It's truly a unique game in many respects and something that is creative in many ways and downright fun. The learning curve can be a little steep but once you get over that you will absolutely love the game. Do yourself a favor though, find an online guide on how to build weapons and such because it will aid you. ) This game is similar to Morrowind/Oblivion-esque in terms of it's character models but it's combat system, exploration system is drastically different.
It's a worthy purchase, just not for the faint of heart.

Games that you should play just because :
Heavy Rain (This game I was somewhat skeptical about in terms of game play and enjoying how it played. Surprisingly it kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and was a real joy.


PSN Downloadable games
Flower (Don't be turned away by the name or even premise. This game is genuinely fun and if you even have a remotely soft spot in you, you will love this game. My personal favorite DLC on the PSN.)
Fat Princess (Fun online downloadable title, gory, brutal and silly.)

Pixel Junk Series (I personally would recommend Pixel Junk Monsters / Shooter) If you're into Asteroids type of shooters or Tower Defense games.

My recommendations would be in my sig but just for the heck of it... inFAMOUS is a MUST.

OMG, get Demon's Souls. Phenomenal game. The game's challenge and gameplay is unheard of and it's story is light on the mounds of text/dialogue but there and it is rather interesting.

You can buy Metal Gear Solid 4 and then download the free Metal Gear encyclopedia that's on the PS store. I would suggest Uncharted 1 and 2 the story is just plain amazing. The multiplayer on Uncharted 2 is under rated as well. If you want you can hold out on Little Big Planet and wait for Little Big Planet 2 but that's your call if the wait is to long. I have MLB 09 the show and its a great game but from what I've heard MLB 10 added the Home run Derby contest and the WBC. I have Fat Princess and the last time I played there was problems with the multiplayer loading don't know if its been fixed. It's a nice spin on the classic capture the flag so if people are still playing multiplayer I recommend it. If you hold out on a game purchase an accessory or something like the PS Bluetooth if you're going to play a lot of multiplayer. Almost forgot if you like how Demon Souls sound and you like zelda type games look at 3D Game heroes.

First off I would recommend buying the new model slim because of way less energy usage and you'll save in the long run, but well up to you.

For games, considering you're budget conscious, and excluding multiplat because I assume you bought them or played them already:

- LittleBigPlanet - platformer of the generation
- Killzone 2 - best FPS of this generation
- Uncharted - if you like Gears, you'll love this
- God of War Collection (2 of the best games ever)
- Warhawk - awesome fun, this game was a gem

PSN
- Trine - great game, fun times
- Fat Princess - same
- Flower - very unique experience

Never played the MLB games but from the demos, '10 is the best of them all. Demon's Souls is my game of the generation, it's nothing like Oblivion though, but I think it's way better, well worth the U$60 and I wish I would've manned up and gotten the Collector's edition when it came out. Avoid Resistance games, very meh IMO, I'd also avoid the Ratchet games as they have a game breaking bug on your save that I think IG has never fixed. SOCOM Confrontation is also broken, wait for the real SOCOM 4. I'd also wait for GT5 but GT5P is great as well.

lol actually they will make more out of the games you purchase, but anyways about my last post to you hope you didn't take any offense i am happy you finally are giving ps3 a chance, and if you ever want to have multiplayer sessions with me and kick my arse as payback then add me on psn lol:):)
