SMB1 = SM64 = radical innovation
SMB2(not the lost levels) = Sunshine = The black sheep
SMB3 = Galaxy = applying polish
SMW = Galaxy 2 = Near perfection

New Super Mario Bros. Wii =Super Mario 64 DS?

That's the only remaining 3D mario game, and it kinda makes sense:

-Both have the same name of another mario game except for the name of the platform tacked on at the end.
-Both have some form of multiplayer.
- 4 playable characters
- We can ignore that one is not a remake.
