Its kind of ironic actually. Its a feature which is definately hard to implement from the perspective of the developer and yet its a very much indemand feature. It does take away from the absolute resources available to making the single player campaign run better so its up to the developer to really balance this out. The irony is that leaving out split screen is probably one of the best ways for a developer to be considered lazy and Sony 1st party/2nd party have been more guilty of this than most inspite of all the accusation of lazyness towards third party developers on that platform.
