and if i remember (correct me if im wrong), that screen shot came around the time the game was first announced. of course it looks a little bad, its probably from when they were still testing local MP.

In that statement they put out around a month ago, HVS said that all the screenshots currently released are using the same version of Quantum3 as the first game.

They added that since then, they have added a new lighting system and texture streaming improvements that make the final graphics much better than the original game and all screen released so far.
