Just one game has recieved 9.6 (Super Mario Galaxy)

3 games have recieved 9.5 (Mass Effect 2, World of Goo, Metal Gear Solid)

3 games have recieved 9.4 (God of War III, Valkyria Chronicles, Shadow of the Collosus)

VGChartz quite simply doesn't rate as highly as other sites. Saying "anything under 9.5 would be a disappointment" is rather strange. 9.4 would still put it among the highest 7 reviewed games of the generation.
