they missed a lot of molyneux and kutaragi. also the "3% xbox360 failure rate" was quite a doozy.

| scottie said: herp derp I'm just going to ignore the fact that Saturo Iwata said that in 2003, when gamers did not buy online games, and thus he was completely correct when he said it, and now that it is no longer true he no longer believes it. Stop your trolling IGN and just go the fuck out of business |
Maybe he was right when it came to Nintendo fan's but on PS2 and XBOX, SOCOM and HALO had very active online communities.

Not that all of them aren't stupid, because they are...but the Nintendo quotes seem the most stupid.
"Gamers don't want online games." "People who play RPGs are just depressed and lonely." For a company that focuses purely on games, they sure know how to discriminate against the people they're trying to sell to.
"You know, things break". Dumb, but true statement. "The first 5 million to buy PS3 will do so even with no games." Dumb, but did that not happen? "People who play RPGs are depressed and lonely."??? WTF?
I found all of these funny, because if I said any of that, I would look in hindsight and I would facepalm myself lol, it just stuck out to me that Nintendo took pot shots only at popular things they happen to be lacking in

He was talking about japanese gamers. And I once read something telling exactly that, that RPGs are quite popular with the...how can we call them?... failures of society there, those man who couldn't be successful in life - there's even a japanese term used for them. But of course he's very wrong saying ALL gamers (even japanese gamers) are like that. I'll try to find it for you. |
I once read that, backed up by several imperical research surveys, the Wii was played mostly by girls, kids, and grandmothers......

It depends on Iwata's context. I would say that Nintendo customers still don't demand online games. If you look at how their games sell, there is no correlation between online features and sales as near as i can see.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Those look rather nice actually, impressed
and lol so many defenders here :P makes this even more funneh
