I saw some of the pictures that were drawn. Some pictured Mohammed next to a pig and another pictured his face as a hamburger. This event was done on purpose to take the piss out of muslims.

If it wasn't banned people still wouldn't be forced to view the content. Nor would they need to take any notice on anything they didn't want to see throughout the web.

Perhaps. However, these kind of events will never be stopped in western societies (taking the piss out of all religions) because of our developed freedom of speech acts. Pakistan hasn't quite got far enough to accept this act. Or maybe they think if people saw these images they could potentially be a threat to the safety of others? I don't no the ins and outs of the situation.

Pakistan blocked Facebook because of the huge protests that took place in Pakistan. If it wasn't for the protests, they probably wouldn't have done anything.

Mabey muslims will realize that people are starting to view them as agressive and put pressure on the people that issue death threats all the time.

While I don't agree with censorship at all. I think a lot of people who post here and just condemn this action with out really thinking about it would find themselves equally offended if they had a draw Jesus with his head blown off day, or have Jesus eating feces day would find themselves equally offended and I can absolutely guarantee the religious groups would boycott and protest just the same. While it may not be a "nation" chances are more total people would boycott that action than the total number of people in Pakistan. People need to think about the things they do and say a lot more than they do.
