If it wasn't banned people still wouldn't be forced to view the content. Nor would they need to take any notice on anything they didn't want to see throughout the web.

Perhaps. However, these kind of events will never be stopped in western societies (taking the piss out of all religions) because of our developed freedom of speech acts. Pakistan hasn't quite got far enough to accept this act. Or maybe they think if people saw these images they could potentially be a threat to the safety of others? I don't no the ins and outs of the situation.

Pakistan blocked Facebook because of the huge protests that took place in Pakistan. If it wasn't for the protests, they probably wouldn't have done anything.
