I mean just look at it. Can anyone possibly deny that this game represents an art form? The creative effort and craftmanship put into everything is just overwhelming. And I haven't even played it yet!
Your thoughts.

If that is your only reason, then the same could be said for so many other games.

must you come into evey thread where someone is happy and drag down the mood? he didn't say no other game was allowed to be praised, he was just asking whether people thought this game was good enough or not
@EL_PATRAS: i think the amount of creativity poured into this game is just astonishing, the reactions it's been getting from the gaming press just strengthens that argument, it's truly a gem
Stop proclaiming specific video games as art, it undermines the premise that the video game is an art form.
Fine to proclaim that SMG2 is one of the finest examples of video game artistry, because that supports the basic premise of video games are art. Or that SMG2 is a prime example of why video games are art. But saying a particular game "should be considered art" is tantamount to saying that most video games are not, and that only a select few can achieve the high status of being proclaimed a work of art.
SMG2 is a video game, ergo it is art. Simple.

Art is never called art. Art is only defined as such long after it's time. This is why modern art sucks. People are trying to make art. The Sistine Chapel wasn't some guy trying to make art. He was getting paid to do a job. Just he did a really good job and we call it art.

how sad
Art...? I rather call it a freaking great game than art.
BTW... if you stretch a little, everything is art, it's a damn over used word.
