Forums - Gaming - Someone Tell Sony Fans Final Fantasy Isn't Their Series! (article)

- SE Announced FFXIII & FFVXIII EXCLUSIVELY for PS3.
- Fans bought PS3s just for FFXIII.
- then SE delays FFXIII every time.
- at E3 SE raised the finger for those who bought PS3s and said FFXIII will be multiplat.
- SE announced the last remnant for PC and 360 ONLY. Fans were looking forward for PS3 version.
- SE cancels the PS3 version of the last remnant.
- Sony announces FFXIV at E3 for PS3.
- After a few months, SE announced that FFXIV will be multiplat.
- SE deletes half of FFXIII and both versions will be on the same release date.
- SE delays FFVXIII.
- At that time, games like MGS went to 360 while PS3 fans still want Mass effect for PS3. Also, games like bayonetta released with a better graphics on 360 .
- Yesterday, SE said FFVXIII may come to 360.

You realized now why PS3 fans are Pissed?

If anyone should be pissed, its Japanese Xbox 360 owners. They didn't get FFXIII even though its available on the 360.

I mean hardcore Square Enix fans likely bought a 360 so they could play games like Star Ocean, Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery. And in return they get ignored for FFXIII. That's kinda fucked up in my opinion.

Hence, just be glad you got the god damn game. What's it to you if its exclusive or not? You're just a consumer. Does Final Fantasy going multiplat impact your life?

well its upto SE end of day, i dont think theres an exclusive deal with versus.

we know its being made for ps3 at this time, as long as its not delayed or gimped il be fine with that.

we need to have towns and overworld this time.

i think SE would get the sales if it was ps3 only.

the latest trailer said ps3 only worldwide, so 360 could release in west not in japan. ???

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

I don't personally CARE on what platform it is. I play the games, whatever console they chose to make it on. It's that simple! I never thought S-E's Fina Fantasy series was exclusive to anyone. They will just make it on whatever console they see fit on. If they decide to make it multi plat, there's a good reason for it. But as a gamer, I don't care who they chose, as long as the games have a good quality to it, it could be on anything & I'll play it. That's the difference between being a true gamer and a X console fanboy/girl.

Square isn't a second party, and final Fantasy didn't start on a sony platform, and has appeared on numerous platforms. Why Sony fans feel such entitlement to the series is beyond me.

series peaked in the playstation though. exclusivity helped the game get most out of the hardware.

Actually, SquareSoft basically was since Sony owned the highest percentage of stock in the company. Once Square merged with Enix, Sony lost majority rule.

no it wasn't even close, Sony has to own 50% to have majority rule.  Highest percentage doesn't equal majority rule.

it does when your vote persuaded others because you were the major player in the console market. Persuasion can be a major player in investor relations. You dont need to own 51% of a company if you can persuade 51% of investors to vote in your favor.

PC gaming is better than console gaming. Always.     We are Anonymous, We are Legion    Kick-ass interview   Great Flash Series Here    Anime Ratings     Make and Play Please

ok but that's completely different from what you said, it's not a majority rule. They can't make anyone do anything, they can negotiate but with majority rule you don't need to.

I Agree With Xbox360 Fans On this one...3rd Party games need to go Multiplatform, its better for the Developer
Gears of War Series, Mass Effect Series, Splinter Cell Conviction, Left 4 Dead Series All need to Hit the PS3 ASAP
then Sony and MS Can Battle it out with First/Second-Party games, And Still get owned By Nintendo.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

article is wrong. Final Fantasy jumped to the PS1 because CDs held more storage then cartridges and there was an allowance for multi-discs if needed.

As long as I know, both arguments are right. Back in the middle 90's word in the street was that the problem was Nintendo's storage solution, but the argument of xbox man is supposed to be true too.

Eh, Sony's 20% (now 8.25%) was non-voting shares, with no seat/represntative at the board.  And it was never the majority shareholder either.

Nintendo held some stake in Square way back in the mid 1990s too btw... that turned out well. ;)

Meh~ I don't really care.

Nintendo got the two best games Square ever made~ You guys can have Square now~ We already have Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger :)
