Forums - General - Sony and MS wont be happy with this... (Ninty will probably shrug)

Oh Greece...

Our government is joining this if they get their way...well half anyway.

It's funny how about one month ago I was all for adopting the Euro, where as now I'm completely against it. I'm fickle like that.

Over a little thing like a currency collapsing? Boy, you are fickle!

Don't worry, that's officially been ruled out for the next five years.

Yes you are!  but Im guessing there are millions feeling the same....

Whereas I have always been a cynical and skeptical git (realist) and therefore was dead against it from Day 1.

Unfortunately I couldn't be against it from day one, I was 11 years old. Caring about the economy still escaped me at that age, I just wanted to ride my bike.

But to be honest, given the circumstances starting a couple of years ago (pound rapidly dropping against other currencies, Collapse of the banking industry, rapidly growing deficit, etc) I think it is easy to see how I could support joining it. I was wrong though, and I can admit that now.

It is hard for me to feel sorry for Sony and Nintendo because this helps greatly Finnish industry (we live from export).

I don't think the exchange rate is what is going to hurt the companies (also, why does it hurt MS/Sony and not Nintendo?).

What is going to hurt is the bankruptcies and taxation that will take away from disposable incomes, which would be spent on gaming. That will hurt the industry in these countries which are growing in terms of their enjoyment of video games.

Dark days for Europe lie ahead. Maybe people will realize that Keynesian economics doesn't work.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

How much production (gaming unit) does Sony do in Japan, Europe and the US in comparison to each other?

And the Euro-Zone definitely won't have its current number of occupants in 5 years time.

The PIIGS!!!
