Forums - Gaming - Xbox 360 FF VERSUS XIII Under Consideration (Interview with Wada)!!

that is bull if they put it on the 360 then it will get content cut out of it to fit the 360. they did it on ff13 a lot of content was cut becuase the 360. when I got ff13 it was good but 40 hours later i beat it then i found out that there was more content like 30 hours cut out of it becuase of the 360 they made the whole game bulit on the ps3 processor. I do not want FF13V to be on the xbox360 becuase that would only lead to content cut. 360 sucks when it come to power that it does not have. don't get me wrong 360 is cool but when it get compenys to cut content becuase of the 360 short comings haha

if it come out for xbox360 then i am going to rent it. I am not going to waste my money on a game that does not keep me playing for a whole week of story.

I hope they do it, because one of my friends really doesn't want a ps3 for just one game(he isn't a serious enough gamer), and honestly I don't want to lend him my ps3.....DO IT SQUARE!.

But he needs a PS3 to play the best game of all time (MGs4) so he should buy it anyway, right aceville?

The thing is, when he buys a console....he rarely buys games for it.... and in my opinion that is a waste of money. Also this way he gets the 360 version of the game and I get the ps3 version of the game! (THIS WAY HE IS HELPING SQUARE ENIX, instead of taking my copy).

Oh is he one of the "I only buy FIFA every year" types?

@Akibafan

There are so many thing WRONG with you post, and this time only 10% of them are spelling/grammar, go figure.

Great so that means FFV13 is going to be another linear piece of crap with no way to return to the first half of the game later on. I don't really care about the FF series anymore because it has changed too much from what got me into the series but I was hoping with Tetsuya Nomura Leading the game that there was still hope to save the series but if it goes multiplat then we know the game will be ripped up and changed to fit a western audiance and 3 xbox 360 discs.

u need to do research. ff13 hd lots of content cut, so did GTA4. they hd content cut on big scale, heavy rain hd it cut on small scale. Whts the common thng between GTA4 & FF13? bth from AAA devs & both went multiplat. I do spell properly, bt I cant be assed to here.

Luk I hvnt liked FF for a long time, FF13 made me luv FF again, but moves like this will make me hate Ff again becaus they are ruining scope & potntial for wht cud be a amzing game. ppl here wnt hve enuf guts to say this out loud, bt whts in my mind is in evry1 elses mind too.

Cause we all know content = quality gaming.

Deadly premonition is 30 hours long...no wonder Destructoid gave it 10/10

Have you got a link to this?

on the topic, multiplatform would be good if they can do. i think it would sell better on 360 than FF13 did because its an action based game, so its on a different playing field and will likely appeal to a wider auidence than RPG fans.

Fck wada. If this happns I'll never buy a FF game from them agen unless its announcd multiplat from get go. Xbox 360 hs ruined FF13 grfx & scope, half the contnt was taken out of th game. despite tht FF13 is my game of gen, bt it cud hve been so much more if they ddnt hve to deal with size restrictions

this move will delay versus & bring down its scope (like GTa4 & ffxiii went down in scope). I wnt evr support squre-enix agen, FF13 will be my last if this happens, I am sick of it & PS3 fans r too.

The 360 had nothing to do with that, it's normal for games (especially ones where a few people have as much artistic control as they did with FF13) to have content cut. Heavy Rain had content cut too. It has nothing to do with space, it's a matter of making a good game, and not all content is good for the game. And the graphics in the PS3 version weren't hurt by the 360, it was quite clear that the content from the PS3 version was all ported to the 360, and the graphics were parred down on the 360 to make that process easier. There is in fact quite a jump between the two versions.

And would you please start trying to spell properly? Reading your posts are a hassle.

In other words, no surprises here.

I dunno, FF13 has done very well on xbox 360, but I still think the sales it has there could have been achieved on PS3 too. I think PS3 can sustain a FF game by itself. But if all S-E is seeing is sales on the paper then yeah they would want to do this move.

I think they should make Versus timed exclusive worldwide at the least as a litmus test. For example many people said MGS4 was going multiplat but when it sold that well on PS3 I don't think Konami felt there was any need to go multiplat.

The PS3 version only outsold the 360 version by 800k in the west, the only areas they were competing in, and the 360 version was clearly a rushed port, so they can't have spent a lot of money on it. If they can start on it earlier, they might even release FFvXIII (360) in Japan as well, and I don't think the PS3 version will be able to sell as much if it's exclusive, as both versions combined if it is multiplat.

I think the chances of FFvXIII remaining exclusive are slim.

So the PS3 couldn't have made up for the 360 sales?

MGS4 did just fine making on PS3 & outsold MGS3.

@geddesmond

YAWN

The plan was to make it linear from the get go, they didn't change the whole games structure after 2008. Did you whine when FFX was on the weakest console last gen?

Get over it.

I doubt that. PS3 version will have 5 minute hard drive install times between each chapter so you should be able to return to the previous part of the game if you wait a little...

now Sony fans will stfu about Versus being better than 13 even before anything at all was shown

What are you talkin about? Many viewed (and still does) FF Versus XIII as being better than FFXIII even before FFXIII was announced multiplat lol.

Well if it happens then I guess MGS4 will be the last greatest 3rd party exclusive to date.

IMO, if this does go multiplat then hurry the f**k up Square!  (again IMO) Possibly due to FFXIII being multiplat and taking too dam long to release resulted in selling less then it could've if released way earlier and stayed exclusive to PS3 while the hype was still hype, and not in the middle of a PS3 flood of other massive games.

Also if it goes multiplat then i'll never believe Square again when they put stuff like 'PS3 exclusive worldwide' on their trailers.

Sorry but this bs. Just because they said so doesn't mean it's the truth. You aren't going to say to the bigger crowd of your fans that you've screwed their game just to get some more cash.

This is the problem with many games, where you are limited by the multiplatform format. You can allways squeeze more of the engine if it's tailored for one platform exclusively. You also have the blueray as opposed to DVD, you can fill it up with content, not just upscaling video and loseless audio. If FFXIII've been exclusive all the way, we wouldn't have to wait for year and a half just to get it working on the 360, we could've  more content that wouldn't fit on 3 discs, etc. The game will allways be better as exclusive. Multiplatform release of previously exclusive game is talking money only.

While I can see why they would like to release it on the Xbox (money, what else). I'm worried about the quality going down from the need to optimalize it for two platforms instead of one. That's undeniable fact.
