In other words, no surprises here.

I dunno, FF13 has done very well on xbox 360, but I still think the sales it has there could have been achieved on PS3 too. I think PS3 can sustain a FF game by itself. But if all S-E is seeing is sales on the paper then yeah they would want to do this move.

I think they should make Versus timed exclusive worldwide at the least as a litmus test. For example many people said MGS4 was going multiplat but when it sold that well on PS3 I don't think Konami felt there was any need to go multiplat.

I don't know where you got that one from but, I was rotflmao. First of all, mgs4 runs on a full blu-ray duel layer disc which is about 50gig.(even Otacon saids it) It is impossible to fit that in a hd-dvd. All of the codes for movements, AI, and CGI alone might be about 20gigs in total, the other 20gigs might be about actual game content, voices, sounds etc. For most games that is exclusive to PS3 is because it is only possible on PS3.

So you joined the site in 2009, that explains it. There was a MGS4 going to Xbox 360 rumor every week.

There's no need to get angry.
You just made a text and forgot some punctuations and I made a (dumb) joke out of it.
I'm sorry if I offended you.

You should be telling yourself that as you're the one fighting tooth and nail to prove the PS3's superiority.

Sony has to take some blame for trotting these games out at E3 and other shows pretending like they are exclusives when they have no contract.

Why would they need a contract to say a game is exclusive? If they have been promised that a game will be exclusive, why shouldn't they present it as such?

Because it's not exclusive unless there is a contract. Promises mean squat in the business world. Sony knows this better than anyone.

oh please Ms does this more than Sony, come on get real and stop trolling, and on that note incoming bombshell i hear splinter cell may be even more likelty to come to the ps3, so 1 less x360 exclusive to count:):)

it's the future of handheld

Alright, if we're going to do this Multi plat thing, then that's cool. But let's do it right. Make DQ X a multi plat with PS3/360/Wii and we'll have a deal :)

Now that I realized... this game was announced in 2006!! Lol, and not even a screenshot! And this from wikipedia...

Final Fantasy Versus XIII began development as early as 2003, two or three years prior to E3 2006 in conjunction with Final Fantasy XIII, after the PlayStation 3 Final Fantasy VII Technical Demo was completed.[26]

This is just wrong business, imo... 7 years+ to make a game... they'll need to release it not only on the 360, but on the Atari 2600 and every other console to make that amount back.

TBH, that was a little expected.

Now who was it that yelled at me for hoping it'd be multiplat.

Looking at you DARTH.

Final Fantasy IX - $40 million

Final Fantasy XII - $35 million

and Final Fantasy XIII is not even on the list, so it's safe to say it was under $35 million? If that's the case and the game has already outsold XII and is not even priced at $20 bucks yet I think VS going multiplatform is a good thing.

Exactly, corporations are fickle. If there's no obstacles towards making money, they'll go for it, even if it means "backstabbing" one of their partners.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Why is this such a big deal?

The main game is already Multiplat, these guys are in a business of making money. Having any game on both HD makes you more money. Unless you pay to keep the game exclusive like MS does, the developer has no choice but to bring it over.
This is a completely different Generation, the PS2 was just too dominating and Sony had had money.
We need to start accepting Exclusives area dying breed.
