I dont think I would use it. What resolution would this movie run at? WOuld the 3D even look like 3D if you dropping the resolution to fit the 3DS

First off if the system is supposed ot give a 3D effect I am not sure why it would just stop doingit for movies.

Secondly the rumored resolution of the screen is 854 x 480 on a 3.4 in screen. So once again the 3D resolution should work(you do not need HD to do 3D).

I agree downloadable 3D movies would be better then retail. However us Canadians would be screwed by NetFlix as the service is not availible here. Infact I wouldn't mind seeing cartridges in major retailers not unlike the UMD. Fact is UMD had to compete against DVD, BluRay. I could get a portable DVD player for cheaper then a PSP and it would have a bigger and better screen with the DVD also having bonus material not availible on the PSP. Then theirs the sound quality which sucks on the PSP.

As someone pointed out the PSP does everything but nothing well. Fact is Nintendo could do everything fairly well without compromising the systems integrity. For example the I-Phone also does everything but people say its the best phone on the market, people say its the best MP3 player and portable movie player, then theirs even some people who prefer it to DS as the greatest portable games device (Not me but some people do).

In essense I think if Nintendo gave the feature a chance it could succeed where UMD failed. Why? well first off not to many people can afford a 3DTV so Nintendo doesn't have to worry about BluRay and TV's as competition. Then their is no other portable 3D device so no competition from the portable market, not even the mighty I-Phone can give us portable 3D movies.

It seems like a tight poll, almost as many people want the feature as not wanting it. I can't wait to see Nintendo's decision at E3!

Movies on GBA?

How the hell would that work?

Not very well.

They basically took episodes of various TV shows, compressed the hell out of them, and slapped them on a GBA cartridge.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I don't think older 3D movies would work, but maybe new 3D content. They could make an original downloadable 3D cartoon series, for Pokemon or Kirby or something, with a bonus episode you can only unlock if you buy the game. I'd probably watch stuff like that on a DS.

I didn't even know that was possible on a machine as weak as the GBA :O

You can't be serious. The GBA was and is more powerful than a standard definition television. The only thing it lacks is the resolution. Besides television shows are 2d therefore even with compression very little detail is lost.

Basically, all a portable needs is a TV tuner to display television shows.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

when I think about it, FMV was used on the Megadrive (And GBA is supposed to be triple the power of SNES and MD) And there was the Mega CD that could handle film.

But still, how could a 16-bit soundchip handle the sound. GBA sound is really scratchy, even compared to Megadrive sound sometimes.

*looks at your avatar* So I take it you don't remember the TV Tuner for the Game Gear?

probably won't happen but how successful it would be depends on the screens. How big and what aspect ratio, what resolution they are and the quality of the 3D effect etc

yeah, and if Nintendo decides to stick with cartriges again which is most likely, then it wont happen. But hey if it did happen it would be a nice add-on for those who want it. Would it increase the price of the 3DS? Sure, which is probably another reason Nintendo won't adopt it. They are strictly games only. But they have showed signs of multimedia with the recent adoption of Netflix on Wii.
