EA is in quite a bit of trouble this generation I think. I think a lot of sports games are eventually going to end up on Wii, but I doubt EA will have mastered how to handle 1:1 controls to capitalize on it.
The real question is going to be whether Activision and Ubi Soft can take advantage of EA's current troubles. If Guitar Hero games can do 6 million/year essentially every year, then you're talking about matching or exceeding Madden sales, which tremendously levels the playing field in selling more software than EA in a year.
I'd expect Xbox 360 EA sales in North America to be comparable (maybe 15% lower) than PS2 peak software sales for EA, but with the rising costs of production they'll continue to see shrinking profits unless they figure out how to get a huge hit on Wii, DS, or PSP.
PS3 should cushion the early blows in a few years, but thats probably three fiscal years away for EA.
