Forums - Nintendo - *Metroid Prime Trilogy right 4 me?*

I was wondering if I should buy the Metroid Prime Trilogy or not. I already have M.P.3.C and got stuck near the start. I like it but it seems very hard and I don't consider myself a "core" gamer as I like Super Smash Bros. but also like Wii Fit. Metroid and Zelda both seem like huge hard games which I have played about 4 Zelda games and have never even come close to beating one. So is Metroid going to be just as hard or even harder or will it be easier than Zelda. I am very interested in the story but never got around to buying any of them but 3. I don't want to start trying 3 again if I am just going to buy the Trilogy because I would rather play them in order but only if I can finish. Also if you were wondering yes Other M has got me interested in the franchise again. I could also just buy the 1st 2 games used at G.S for the G.C for a total of about $15.

What do you think a person like me should do? Please give detail and explain each game and why or why not I should get the trilogy or not. 1 more thing I heard 2 is very hard so will it through me off to the point where I no longer want to play?

Thank You,

It might not be for you then. MP3 holds your hand more than 1 and 2 do. But if you're willing to put in the effort, the Metroid Prime trilogy is an amazing experience.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Prime 2 was actually made a bit easier in the Trilogy.
It's a marvelous package, and I would highly recommend it, but you'll have to decide for yourself whether to get it ot not. They're kind of hard, if you're not really into those sort of games, but not frustratingly so, I'd say. Besides, you could always use a guide, and the games DO have an 'easy' setting.

Even though I love it I doubt you will, it's harder than zelda, complicated wise, and yes Metroid prime 2 will defintly put you off by judging your doubts, but for me it was a worthy purchase.

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

for one , i'd say get it its pretty rare, if you don't like it you can sell it (for more than what you paid for)
but then again , this game isn't for you since you are finding those other games hard, because it can get difficult (ironically mostly because of the Motion controls)

Metroid>>>Zelda in hardness? Oh than maybe its not for me as I am interested in the story but I am not all that good and HARDCORE games. I mean my favorite game ever made is Pikmin 2 LOL! Will I get confused if I buy Other M in Augest and I don't play any other Metroid games? Also it doesn't help that I NEVER played a 1st person games in my life besides for 3 Corruption and I honestly think that could be the reason I find it difficult.

Way too easy IMO.

How was it made easier?  If they made it easier to navigate, then it would be an improvement in my mind.  If they just made the enemies easier to kill or something, then that's not all that great.

The main problem I had with Prime 2 was it was way too dark and even compared to the original Prime, there seemed to be a million doors and platforms making you get turned around easily.  Something I'm glad they resolved in Prime 3.

Well, the Wii pointer controls make the gameplay and navigation easier overall, but the devs didn't change anything about the level design or puzzles or anything. But that wasn't what I was referring to anyhow, what I meant was there were a few instances in the 'Cube Prime 2 that were quite hard and apparently put some players off, like some boss fights. Those were made a bit more bearable, according to Retro. I'm not 100% sure which exact bits were toned down in difficulty, but if you need to know, Google it, should be easy to find. I'm too lazy right now.

@ Snesboy, well, just go play the game with the difficulty set to Hyper. Then, if you still find it too easy, well, I won't believe you.

Everyone should play Super Metroid (Virtual Console) to prepare for Other M.
