you could make hollow object's in little big planet 1, and enter them hell i even made a rocket you could climb inside and blast off and control the rocket while in flight!
but yea, it still was not 3D, but this on the other hand allow's you to go inside of for example:
the sackbot's and you could make a sackbot combat suit for your sackboy to ride in.

I was just talking about how LBP had floaty jumping in the SMG vs LBP thread. LBP will finally be a serious platformer if you are able to make him jump right, lol.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

No, Zen: It will be both. A serious platformer, and a silly platformer. :)
Every kind of platformer! And even more other genres thrown in than before. Anything that has two dimensions (give or take .5) and obeys the laws of physics.
Even more so this game is becoming some kind of weird modern rallying cry for retro game enthusiasts and homespun game developers. I fucking love it. I can't wait to get to making games with the new sackbots and control seat fuctions... I can already see how they're going to do my bidding...
You know what would have been even better?
If they made the jumping tighter in the first place.
I tried LBP once at Gamestop. The way the game felt was all off IMO. I knew all that I had to know about the game in five minutes.

I love how people tried the game once for five minutes and bash it for it jumping style.
Isnt it obvious then that you are just not used to that kind of jumping style? would it hurt to try to get into the jumping:P?
Wow... I don't get some of you guys. Why would you want to "adapt to the jump" and use a reason like "it's part of the game, that's how they wanted it?" I mean, really? It's like saying "play football, but on ice! It's a different way to play that I force on you for no valid reason when everyone is used to the superior way of playing!"
What I'm saying here is that the core gameplay is a platformer. It should feel like a platformer. And I shouldn't have to time my jumps two seconds before you hit the corner of a platform or else you'll fall down the spikes or something. It needs to be precise. I'm glad that acceleration parameter in the character is somehow getting fixed because yes, that was the main problem in the first one, especially for completing the challenges.
For your information, I played the game for at least two months (well, tried to actually).

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

and it does, just because the jump physic's is not the same as say for example: Mario does make it anyless of a platformer.
the fact that it was designed the way it was make's it unique. the fact that you can now tweak the setting's in little big planet 2 for less jump physic's , mean's exactly that.
It's not getting fixed, there is now an option for you to change what you want. to you it was a flaw, to me on the otherhand i thought it to be one of the thing's i love about Little Big Planet.
with tweaking it now add's more dynamic to it.

Actually you proved the point right there. The game is not pixel perfect platformer, it's something different, and if you don't like it, then it's not game for you. I for one, love it, and as far as I know, the "solution" is that you build a sackbot to take control of with altered controls. But I don't know if you can bring your own creations into the pre-made levels, and I hope you can't, so the pre-made levels will all be played equally.
Honestly, if LBP hadn't been different in this regard, it wouldn't have been as fun.

At underlined: Unique? I don't know... feels more like they didn't put much thought into it. Did you try some of the later challenges in the single player game? It's so frustrating when you collect everything and then you die because of a series of short platforms right before the end of a level. The game brought me much joy the first two weeks, and then I had a big sad because I noticed how bad the jumping physics were.
At bolded: Oh I know, I read the article and the thread. Notice how I wrote it is "somehow" getting fixed. I just hope the default setting will be the "Mario" style. Casuals like to adapt, then adapt to this (just talking in general, hehe)!
At Rainbird: I'm a completionist man, and I like to complete everything in a game when I can. Because of what I explained in the first part of this post, I didn't manage to get everything because it was just frustrating to me. Playing in co-op was great and all, never said it wasn't fun, but the more "serious" part of the game is seriously hurt by this.
