If I could, I would have voted BNP for the sake of Great Britain.
Britons is one of my favorite civs in Age of Empires II.
I hope the conservatives win. Plus I hope the Green party don't manage to get into the parliament.
It used to be every 4 years and now the election is every 5 years?
Also I wonder how can labour be in power with only 35% of the vote in 20005? Are they in coalition with someone?
And how, i mean what are the speculated block formations for this election? Open between either a cons+LD combo and labur+LD combo depending on negotiations??

Thanks. That imbalance in the electoral system and boundary thingy, does it work both ways - now that consevratives will win, will they get unproportionate share of the seats? Or rather, does the system always benefit the party who gets the highest popular vote?
Or, does it always tend to benefit the socialists?

its been changed over time, generally the changes have benefited the governing party of the time.
It's a deeply flawed system.
If Party A gets 20% more votes than Party B then you would think that A would be the government? That's not always the case as it depends on how well positioned the support is as it better to win 5 seats by 1 vote than win 3 out of 5 with a massive majority.

@Football -
That is why our American federal republic is a better system, IMO. We do have the advantage of size, which tends to insure that the chances of an overwhelming win in the popular vote usually corresponds to the same in terms of seats being gained/lost
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
BTW, where can we get live election coverage at 11pm GMT for the results?
Although I am not a Brit, I'd like to see who wins.

any UK news website will have a live blog and/or update throughout the night.
unfortunatley for you, I think the Live BBC TV coverage is UK only

The BNP would not be good for Britain. They would run our country into an even worse situation than it is already in. We need a serious party. The BNP don't have a clue how to run the country, all they care about is kicking immigrants out.
If they ever got in I would move abroad before the riots start. And while I'm standing at the ferry port in Dover I will wish them luck with their isolationist economy with such a huge deficit at hand and their newly drastically understaffed health service.
