first of all, that is a ridiculous scale. They should have gone with the 5 star scale. In the 10 scale, good games range in the 7-10. Second off, if the scale is like this, then why did it get the same score as WKC....It makes no sense. |
Actually it makes more sense to have 5/10 as average then 7/10, with 7/10 you have 6 diferent ratings for bad games and 3 for good games, with Edge's system you have 5 bang in the middle and 4 ratings for both good and bad games, this actually makes more sense and is more balanced then the system employed by everyone else as 1 is the opposite end of 10, 2 to 9, 3-8 and so on. It's not as odd as you make it out to be if anything everyone else is using an odd system.
Great score ! And damn, you got me with the thread title.
Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

Looks like it will be another split best of year, even if Zelda doesn't come out in 2010.
I remember how Gears got picked over Galaxy by a few mags. Time will not be friendly on those opinions.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

It was toss up between Galaxy, Bioshock and Portal, with Galaxy and Bioshock taking majority.

2007 im pretty sure was shared between Galaxy and Gears. For some reason i can't find the wiki page.

Gears was 2006, and it was shared with Zelda mostly.
