To answer the question P.S.2 because the question is by the end of this gen so... but I think you mean this gen so... Wii should win in the end.

I understand the logic of people who don't want to count the tens of millions of bundled sales of Wii Sports (I don't agree with it, but I understand it), but why would you discount the non-bundled sales as well? Does having some sales bundled invalidate all sales? If we are going to invalidate all sales of any game that has had any bundled sales, the million sellers list for all consoles will be decimated.

Wonder if anyone voting PS3 will make their case in a post :P

Using VGC figures, I think Wii will probably catch up for a few reasons:

- there are a lot more active Wii titles in the 900ks. They would only need a small adjustment in the numbers to take them over the 1 million mark.
- the 'legs' argument does have some truth to it; Wii titles are more likely to be slow burners, 360 ones to reach 1 million in the first month or so, so for both current releases and future releases there's more potential for a slow but steady trickle of games making 1 million on the Wii side.
- a lot of casual or little-known games can make 1 million on Wii, as well as all the big Ninty games. The 360 has a lot more 'will definitely make a million' titles, but beyond those games there aren't many that can sneak over the line.

If you started making a list of the games releasing this year that will definitely make 1 million, then the 360 comes out top, but add in all those 3 factors above and I think the Wii will continue to eat into the 360 lead.

I'll vote PS3.

Reasoning: If end of gen goes the full 10 years that Sony said their console will go.  As I can't see Xbox and Wii going 10 years...  PS2 still has had games coming out at late as last year which have sold 1 million + units - http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=35497&region=All

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

No disrespect, but saying PS3 will have the most million sellers by the end of this gen is borderline dellusional.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

The Wii has a pretty good chance to take the lead. The PS3 is out of question seeing how massive the gap is. Still there are many factors that could decide the Wii/360 million sellers competition, like how powerfull of an impact Natal will have, or if the Wii sales will slow down once the Sony and MS motion controlls are out...

If you discount Wii Sports, you should probably discount every game that's gotten an official manufacturer bundle adding to it's total.  That means losing...

The kicker here is the "new" motion controls on the 360/PS3.

Only way in hell the PS3 will get into the mix is if Move is successful and it leads to porting over of some Wii games (very possible)

If Natal is successful, they will win easily. If it is not, Nintendo will win easily by end of gen.

(I equate end of gen to when each company launched their new console. PS2's "last gen" ended the day the PS3 launched in each of the three big regions. What it has done since then has been part of the "current gen")

360 will sell the most because it gets Madden, FIFA, UFC, PES yearly, and their third party support shits all over nintendos third party games, so not a chance for the wii.

I'd say the 360. It's too easy for 360 games to sell a million now,and Wii's sales tend to focus on the most popular titles. For example, the 360 will sell 5 shooters over 1 million, and the Wii will have one game do all 5 million on its own. PS3 can't catch up because too many of the games sell over a million on both 360/PS3. There just aren't enough exclusives to overcome the 360 exclusives as well.

Just look at how many likely million sellers 360 has on the slate for the rest of the year, and I find it hard to believe Wii will catch up any time soon, even with the couple random Just Dance-ish types popping up from time to time.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Well over a year ago I said 360 and I still think I'm going to say 360. Although Wii has close up the gap some, 360 is still getting the majority amount of big games that are able to open to enough sales to hit the million mark. And despite Wii having the larger userbase which means more long term million sellers, with only the Nintendo games being able to do what those certain 360 titles do, it's a longshot to me. PS3, unless it gets a larger userbase, it is hard to think it'll be able to get more than the 360. Not to many PS3 titles that have sold a million and are 3rd party compared to 360 (if there is any).

So I'll say 360, but this all could be strongly affected by when N6, Xbox 3, and PS4 come out with some being as early as 2011/2012 and as late as 2013/2014. That could really affect this.

EDIT: although I will say Wii has caught up at a faster rater than I first would have thought.  It's going to be tight between Wii and 360 over the course of 2010 and 2011.  So when I say 360, if it does beat out Wii, it won't be by much.

I am surprised the Wii has not passed the 360 yet though although I expect it to eventually passed the 360.

The PS3 has no chance, none.
