Most: IGN they are spot on most of the time.

VGC is good too, Naz seems to have a green thumb for picking out writers.

User reviews, the only ones you can trust these days.

Have you read the user reviews on this site? Or indeed any other site on the internet? About 1% are decent or better. 99% are either:

  • Ridiculously short
  • Terribly scored
  • Written by people who don't own the game
  • Written by people who hate the console
  • Any combination of the above.

Just wondering, have you read any of mine?  Just wondering and I'd like a VGC reviewer's feedback  (some I need to edit badly though).

I just read a couple; you're firmly in the 1%.

The one I trust the most is easily PC Gamer UK. They give frank reviews and the content is always good. Even when I see a score I disagree with (which is very rare), I can usually see why in the text. And although not a proper reviewer, Zero Punctuation. Even when he hates a game (which let's face it is 99% of the time), I gain more insight into why I would like or dislike the game he talks about than most reviews. He hated The Witcher, yet after his review, I knew I would love it... and I did!

Trust the least? Most gaming websites tbh. Most of them are pure crap filled with reviewers getting overhyped for certain franchises.

None. I read/watch several reviews and see if the opinions correlate.

I typically read IGN reviews, and that's about it. If I'm really curious about a game I'll scope out what people have had to say about it on here. I do at 'scores', but it's more of a curiosity thing than something I really take into consideration before making a purchase. I long ago discovered that my tastes aren't the same as everyone else's.

Bah!

i use gamespot for reference but my main source of "reviews" are gaming forums because i speak with others about the games and see if the game interest me by the feedback they gave me... i never buy games at launch so i can get alot of info before i buy the game!

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

I gave up on gamespot. I used to visit the site everyday but I found I really didn't like the reviews there. I haven't gone to the site now in probably a year+.

Bah!

^-^ Hope you enjoyed the ones you read (I know the 2 Halo ones I need to majorly edit).  It's really funny when reading my more recent reviews (at this moment); it seems the lower the score is, the better I am at explaining the score :P.  Both of my 10 reviewed games need work

damn, i guess i better practice more, since chances are im in his 99 percent lol
