Game gets awesome once you finish the tutorial.... 25 hours later...

Give it a rest. The first 25 hours is not a tutorial.

In my opinion, it is...

You can't really do what you want until you hit Gran Pulse, like make your own teams, etc...

Don't get me wrong, I thought the tutorial was well done, but the game got awesome at chapter 11.

The tutorial gives you the backstory, etc, so not like it's boring..

Now.. Kingdom Hearts "tutorial" that was just boring, what was that 8 hours or so?

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

definitely the worst of the series, and mediocre as a game overall

You can make your own team a way through chapter 9 when you get the "how to make change your team tutorial"

Chapter 11 for me wasn't as good as chapter 9 or 7 because the story slowed down.

If a huge open field with side missions = end of tutorial for you

I just dunno what to say.

It is, as it gives you the freedom to do what you want starting there, granted if you want to progress the story more you still need to go from point A to B but you can also choose to go to points C through Z as well :)  Previous to Chapter 11, there was only A to B.

Only if you played all RPG's this gen and want more. It should be on the very bottom of your RPG list, really.

In other words, the game is absolutely terrible.

How is only "A to B" a tutorial though?

A tutorial is a phase where you are taught how to play the game & taught about its fundamental systems

that gets over in Chapter 4 (when you learn how to use summons & weapon upgrades).

I'm still confused by what you mean.

if you can enjoy a game only because it's beauty, yes, it is worth. if not, i wouldn't be sure...

Favourite Games:

PS: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy VII. PS2: Resident Evil 4, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 4, Soul Calibur III. PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Mototstorm PR, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2. Xbox: Suteki, Fatal Frame II DC, Jade Empire. 360: Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4.

They had FF13 at my local library, so I reserved a copy for the PS3. Just picked it up today and played for an hours. The intro was so beautiful and mesmerizing that couldn't wait to dive into this game. The graphics are some of the best I've ever seen.

Boy, did this game sure suck for the hour I played. The battles are so boring-- especially the auto-battle button. I felt like I was watching the game more than playing it. The paths were so linear.

After playing Mass Effect 2, which is the king of non-linear RPGs, I just couldn't force myself to play FFXIII. It is a shame. I have played other turn-based RPGs such as Phantasy Star that were quite fun. I had never played a FF game before so I was really looking forward to it, but I couldn't get into this game so I'm going to take it back to the library.

The only other Square Enix game I've played was Kingdom Hearts, and that was so much more fun than FFXIII.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

The first 3 hours are really kinda boring gameplay-wise.
But after that it gets phenomenal.

One of the best JRPGs I have ever played. Well worth any price.

It's worth the asking price. I managed to complete the game and got 50 hrs of gameplay. In some ways it was dissappointing but it's still worth playing. Very slow to start, brilliant in the middle and at Chapt. 11 where it opens up, but a little dissapointing at the very end and needs a bit more variety in side-quests.
