I guess all in all I'm hoping that since Nintendo went way too casual in '08, and they had a decent balance in '09, that this will be the year the Wii sheds the image of it created by Wii Sports etc (like the ds did with brain age and Nintendogs over the latter years of its reign), and that we get a few mentions of things like Wii Sports, etc, to appease that crowd, but that 80 to 90 % of Nintendo's conference is dedicated to outstanding new games in traditional genres.

yeah, I know the Wii isn't regarded as being as powerful as the other consoles, but with the other consoles wanting to show their more casual friendly games this year, the Wii could really raise its standing with the core this year.

And you oftentimes here people say with Wii it's the gameplay. Well, if that's true why demonstrate that gameplay in Wii Sports, etc? Why not show that they have the best games in traditional genres? If they're truely the best, they will get the sales and accolades they deserve.

"Even though its visuals and audio come up short, Monster Hunter Tri is one of Capcom's best. The gameplay grows on you after the first few monster kills, and teaming up with friends on epic quests never get old. Let's hope that Capcom has more Hunter adventures lined up in the future, perhaps for higher-end consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3."

OMG, what an utter pice of crap! How'd I miss that? O_O

I was talking about the article you quoted. Ridiculous journalism and elitism.

No, De Vries. He was the only one to describe the situation accurately.

De Vries is a freelancer?

Conversation seems like the wrong word here. Whinefest might be better to describe this article.

It's weird, at first everyone complains that the Wii is fake and that they don't have a reason to buy the Wii it's all games for casuals.

Then a game comes out that they would want and they cry cry and cry some more. All I'm hearing is that it's not on the real systems.

All I see is a game that makes me want to use my Wii.

If this isn't just viral marketing, if this really is the sound of gamers then what is this ego?

It's too implausible that this is a massive ego trip even for gamers, from now on anyone I mean anyone who says something a long those lines without any substance has to be a viral.

You'd have to be paid to be that dumb to say things so obviously so overtly detrimental to the gaming experience in such an inconspicuous manner.

Maybe this is why gaming isn't taken seriously.

Also when Nintendo releases their killer apps, apparently they are failing and should go third party so they can make games on real systems. O.o
