And next week Wii will pass X360 in the others region!

Yah about time I would say :S, still congrats, but there is still a long way to go sony...

How many weeks did it take for the Wii and 360 to reach 6 million?

(edit: numbers on the previous gen consoles would be nice too. I can't find the info on the charts ;___; )  

Wii - 21 weeks.

360 - 54 weeks.

PS3 - 54 weeks.

Sony managed to track behind 360's sales, but it took a lot of expensive price cuts.

870,000 before 570,000...yeah you might be right on that one....lol

Despite a rough start and a lot of initial problems, it's still keeping up with the 360. That's actually pretty good.

Like they say: "A fool and his money are soon parted." 

Not that Jandre is necessarily a fool but that bet is foolish given that they both sell almost exactly the same amount at the same time but the PS3 has more ground to cover than the 360.

But who knows, maybe Black Friday and the general Xmas shopping frenzy was/is going to be morebeneficial to the PS3 than the 360?

It took a clearance sale and two price cuts for them to be "only" 7.5 months late on their initial forecast of 6 millions sold by the end of march 2007. I would lot doing in 12 months what you thought you would do in 4.5 months to be pretty good and I doubt Sony does either (though I wouldn't expect them to admit it).

 I thaught it was waaay to long in the 4 million region ... anyways , nice going ... see you at 8 at the end of the year :)

There are now 6.31 million Playstation 3 units sold. How come it's selling so fast?

A lot of disappointing things have happened however Sony has and is weathering them all.  Are they were the Wii is or where a lot of people expected/hoped them to be?  No.  However they're not out of the running, not by a long shot.
